Just got back from a dive trip which I finished off with Dos Ojos. I highly recommend going through Dive Cenotes Mexico dive shop!!! Susanne and Gasel were professional, easy, and excellent to work with!
Me and my friends were guided by Gasel, her experience, kindness, professionalism, and local knowledge is unperilled. I will definitely be diving with them the next time I go down!

I'm slightly claustrophobic so I was afraid to try it. Sylvia (scuba libre) and my boyfriend talked me in to it. It was absolutely AMAZING. Seriously wow is all I can say. A must do if you are in the area. We dived the Barbie line and bat cave today and fell in love with Cenotes diving; we'll be back before the year ends to do more Cenotes diving for sure!

I did my open water certification with Dive Cenotes Mexico and had a fantastic time!!! Our dive instructor, Susanne, was amazing and made sure that I felt comfortable as I was initally quite nervous. They are very professional, friendly and experienced! This is the to-go place for diving Cenotes in Mexico...hands-down!

I was diving at the Cenote Tajma Ha and it was just incredible. If you are not a cave diver, but have a reliable buoyancy and like to experience new things, go for it. It is truly a one of a kind experience! I went with Divers UnderGround, Joel - it was professional and truly well organized. Top notch!

This was a really nice cenote. Coming up and seeing the sun filtered through the water was beautiful.

I never realised the Cenotes were so diverse . Over 10 days we dived 12 Cenotes as recreational divers . The cavern experience was awesome leaving us wanting more . Susanne and Gisela looked after us so well , totally professional . From the moment I contacted Susanne the communication was easy . I felt I could ask anything and was helped with accomodation suggestions , all aspects of our diving and holiday. Each day was relaxed , with no pressure ...just fun doing what we enjoy most .
I can’t wait to go back and I wouldn’t want to dive or train with any one else.

There are two beautiful sections of the this cenote - the Sugar Bowl and the Air Dome. It is a stunning cenote with beautiful stalagmite and stalactites which hang into the water. There was a halocline that was visible throughout the cenote - it was incredible. The Leaning Tower inside the cenote was a sight to see! There are some areas of the cenote that are quite tight. Scuba divers need to be careful to not touch the cave formations or there is a risk that they may be ruined. It is a beautiful place to visit!

if you have never tried cave diving, this is an excellent opportunity. The cave has been thoroughly explored, and mapped out very carefully, with a safety line spread out throughout the entire cave. The dive guides are all certified cave divers that go here(they have to be) and they are all very experienced in cave diving. It's so different than doing regular reef dives, or any kind of ocean dive. The salt water and fresh water don't mix here, so you spend half your time in both.
really excellent...

Dive Cenotes is a wonderful place for experiencing Cenotes, for the first, or the 50th time. Through Susanne and the web site, you can learn to dive, learn to cave dive, or go on a guided tour of one of the most spectacular diving environments an open water diver can swim.
There are lots and lots of outfits offering cenote diving, but this is by far the best.
If you are an advanced open water diver, and want a guided tour of the Cenotes, I highly recommend "the pit", followed by "Taj Majal" and then "Bat cave". However, depending on the time of day (for ultimate sunlight experience), your dive guide may have a better idea. Two dives in one day is also my recommendation, as there is a deep discount for the second dive, and once you try one, you'll want to do more.

What was required prior to your dive? I have currently done two dives, but do not have my diving certification. Do I need to get dive certified before I go? Or can I dive through this company without a certification?
Thank you.

Hallo Aaron,
To dive in the overhead environment (cenote/cavern) you need a minimum of an Open Water Diver certification. Without certification you can snorkel many of the spectacular cenotes such as Dos Ojos, Taak Bi Ha, or Sac Actun.
Best regards,
Susanne

Can anyone experience cavern or cave diving, or do you need previous scuba experience/ special certifications?
Written January 8, 2017
Hi Anne, to dive in a cavern (cenote) you must have at least an Open Water Diver certification. A very beautiful cenote to snorkel is Dos Ojos. You can either snorkel on your own by paying the entrance fee or participate in a guided tour which you can arrange at the entrance of the cenote.

I am not scuba certified (have only taken the class portion but don't have my 4 certification dives in yet). But my friend is.
IS there a trip that would allow him to scuba and me to snorkel that we could take together?
Written December 2, 2015
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your diver friend could do one or two dives in cenote Dos Ojos. These two dives start and end at the same place but are completely different from each other. You can read more about the dive site at our website.
Our rate for the dives in Dos Ojos is US$80 for one dive and US$120 for two dives plus US$20 for equipment and light.
Dos Ojos is also a great cenote for snorkeling. So you can snorkel at the same time as your friend is doing his dive(s).
We do not run snorkeling tours but you can either snorkel on your own by just paying your entrance fee (200 pesos) or you can arrange a guided snorkeling tour with our Maya neighbors at the entrance of the cenotes. The guided tour costs 500 pesos and includes the entrance fee, guide, mask, fins, life jacket and locker.
For diving, we meet at 9:00 am at our dive shop at the entrance of Dos Ojos located on Highway 307, which is about 45 minutes south of Playa del Carmen/10 minutes south of Akumal (1 km south of Xel-Ha)/10 minutes north of Tulum.
We do not provide transportation to our dive site location but it is very easy to get there either by rental car, taxi, or by using a public "colectivo" (white vans) running along Highway 307. FYI, the public colectivo system works very well in this area, is safe, and only costs a few dollars.
We do not accept credit cards but you can pay with pesos, dollars, or euros.
This is a busy time for us so if your friend decides diving with us please confirm at least two days ahead of the day he would like to do your dives so we can make sure to have a guide available for him.
Best regards,
Dive Cenotes Mexico
