We stayed down the beach from this place. We rented a golf cart and visited here. I've been wanting to do this for a few years and finally did. Was well worth the visit. Was a lovely day. Lots to see.

We opted for Yal Ku lagoon over Xel Ha as we felt it would be more peaceful and less touristy and also much cheaper! We definitely weren't disappointed. The moment you walk through the little forest pathways and see the lagoon, your breath is taken...More

I was here last year and could not take my mind off this place. So I went back to Mexico in July and just had to stop by again. Love how the ocean meets the lagoon. And the best part was that there was no...More

We came here as part of a tour package. This place is absolutely magnificent. The water is so clear and there are so many different species of fish. Just awesome beautiful snorkeling. I didn't even use a life vest as water is very calm. A...More

This place is just near the Akumal beach. When driving down you come across a huge arch...keep going on that road and keep an eye open for the signs on the road. The road is bad but the trip is worth it. They have lockers...More

Do yourself a favor if you are fan of fishes and snorkeling. Very expensive ($14 entry + $4- $10 for rentals), but price is negotiable if you are with travel agency, local or with group.

We went here after snorkeling in Akumal. It is a rough road to get here, but we felt worth it. I think it was approx. 236 pesos per adult to get into the park. There weren't very many people here and the amenities were very...More

Due to the mixture of sea water and fresh water from the cenotes, the water temperature throughout the lagoon is variable, which is pleasant considering the heat. Within the lagoon, there are mangroves which can be a nursery are to young fish, meaning the lagoon...More

It's 11.4 km - right down MX 307 to the Akumal turnoff, then along the ocean to the lagoon. Make sure to check out the Buena Vida bar and restaurant - it is right on the way to Yal-ku.
