Professional Fishing Experiences

I have gone big game fishing with Spearmex in both of their locations -- Costa Palmas and Punta Mita. When I went to Costa Palmas, my goal was to catch a roosterfish. In Punta Mita, to catch a Marlin. On both occasions, we succeeded! Both locations operated similarly, with great professionalism, very nice boats, and ample (and delicious) food and drink). The boats are built to get you to the spots fast so that you spend more time fishing and less time driving. The crews were amazing in both places. A huge shout out to Hugo in Costa Palmas, and to Javier and Pedro in Punta Mita. They go far out of their way to ensure that you have an amazing trip and, most importantly, have fun along the way. Thank you to Spearmex, I will definitely be back!

Fantastic afternoon

Made the absolute best out of poor visibility! Our family of 5 went out for an afternoon of spearing. Our guide Alejandro and our captain were super Knowledgeable and engaging. Served us cold beers on deck while preparing fantastic ceviche on board with the fish we had just speared. Still Brought home enough spadefish for our hotel to prepare 4 kinds of spectacular fish tacos for that night’s supper.

We spent the last couple of days at St Regis at Punta Mita. Did some fantastic stuff but this part was amazing. We did a beginners spearfishing 3 hour tour. Alex was our guide and he was outstanding. We went to roughly 3 different spots and were able to spear a few fish. Training was held in the St Regis pool and then went out about a mile from the beach. Snorkel gear, wetsuits and spearguns provided. Guide is right by your side and felt very safe. We booked the trip right at St Regis and we’re picked up directly from their beach. Great time! Hope to go again very soon!!

The captain and the main person were so easy going, acknowledgeable and friendly. The children had a great time! Totally a memorable experience for us.

Excellent fishing trip with Kids

The crew knew the right trip for us with 4 young kids 10 and under. they kept us relatively close to shore and got lots of action catching tons of fish that we had cooked up for dinner that night.

Fantastic on all levels

We went out with Pedro and Captain Miguel, and had a great trip. The boat was super clean and well equipped, and because we picked up the boat at Punta de Mita, we were fishing within about 45 minutes of getting on the boat. Pedro was a great guide, friendly, informative and enthusiastic. We ended up with 3 fish for the day, a substantial sailfish and two mahi's. This is a great outfit, I'd highly recommend them!

Fun Morning with Spearmex

Our trip with Captain Javier and Hugo was great. From the gear, to the instruction, to the boat, all were top notch. Hugo and Javier worked very hard to help us find fish. While Hugo did catch several, none of us caught anything. The water was quite cloudy after a storm 2 days before so that may have been the issue. Nevertheless, it was a great time. We even saw whales!

Most epic fishing trip of our lives!

We had the most amazing time with our 2 guides, Javier and Hugo. They were so knowledgeable and went straight to the perfect spot where we caught 8 huge mahi mahi within 75 minutes! They were so accommodating when our friends got sea sick and brought them back to our hotel, then took my husband and I back out to where we then had fresh ceviche and passion fruit margaritas prepared for us on the boat with the fish we just caught. We arrived back at our hotel and between our concierge and the 2 guides, they did all the work to ensure we got all the fish home that we could. I would definitely recommend this tour! We can’t wait to go back out with Spearmex!

Fabulous Inshore Fishing Trip

This was a fabulous inshore fishing experience with my husband and sons (ages 10 and 13). Pedro was an amazing guide, and Javier was his captain. They worked hard to find the fish and then coach the kids on reeling them in. At the end, they showed the kids how to fillet the fish, and they gave us a great ceviche recipe! We will be contacting them on our next trip to Punta Mita!

Full day offshore fishing

Had a great time with Captain Pedro Paz and Javier. They know the area very well, and were true professionals. They worked very hard all day long to bring the tuna up, and we landed a nice one near the end of the day on a kite. I've never been on an offshore boat and seen the crew try so many different tactics to get fish, it was extremely impressive. They always had an upbeat mood, and were extremely pleasant to my family. I would recommend them with zero hesitation.
