Mostly hand-crafted products such as German sausage, sourdough bread, homemade butter, peanut butter, etc. There's no organic certification, so you have to take it on trust. You can sell your own products for 80 pesos cost for a table. Lots of angloparlantes. Opens at 10am and many things sell out quickly.

We found 2 markets while staying in Ajijic June 2014.
Monday is a market in Chapala. If you stay in Ajijic take the Chapala bus and ask the driver to let you off at the Tiangis, The market goes on for 20-25 blacks and you'll find practically everything, from leather wallets, blouses, pirate movies, food, fresh produce, and used things.
Wednesday in Ajijic is a similar market, similar market only smaller, may be 12 blacks but I thought the staff is of better quality. In any case it is very entertaining.

This is Mexico, not Whole Foods Market in the US. You will most often be buying directly from the farmer, or maker of the product. A lot of the produce is grown using organic practices, but not certified organic. If you'd like to know, just ask the vendor. The lamb that I buy, from one of my favorite meat vendors told me her farm where the herd is grazed is on the hills above Chapala. One of the raspberry jams I purchased last month, the vendor pointed out to me who he got the organically grown raspberries from. The jam was thickened with chia seeds, so required refrigeration. There is lots of ready made foods if you are not into cooking yourself, or if you are willing to do some work, you can just pick up some mole sauce, pesto, or other convenient starters for a meal. It is the slow season right now, and it is still very busy. It is a zoo during the winter high season when all the snowbirds are here. Bring your own bags, your patience, and a smile please.

...AND MORE!
This is ”the place” to get your FRESH fruits and vegetables. And all at very reasonable prices! (Mexican Pesos)
There also have many different wares for sale. Clothing, paintings, carvings, fresh meat (chicken), and all the beans, lentils, and candies you could ever imagine.
This market is held weekly and is the only place to buy!
Just don’t faint when you see the prices you'll pay compared to back in USA/CANADA! Best to come with smaller denomination $ (lots of them😁)
Come, buy & enjoy! You won't be disappointed!!

A couple of the reviews below confuse the city of chapala weds market (not organic) with the Tuesday organic market in West Ajijic, full name is Lake Chapala Farmers’ Market. There is also another Weds market in Ajijic village centro, not organic. We live here, been doing it for 4 years, it’s walking distance from my house.

We have been to the Wednesday Ajijic Tianguis (market) a few times now and love the fresh produce (raspberries especially) and the churros. :-) We have also been to the Tuesday organic Farmer's Market and love Peter's sourdough bread, Colibri Garden's coffe cakes :-), as well as the fresh honey, peanut butter, homemade ginger beer, somosas and empanadas. And as for the Monday Chapala Tianguis, it is definitely something you need to experience at least once... although just a bit too busy for us.

This is a weekly (Tuesday morning), supposedly organic farmers' market held just outside of Ajijic on the way to Jocotepec in the La Huerta Expo Center. Its target population is pretty clearly the gringos in town but if you are looking for great baked goods and especially delicious lamb this is place. And if you left your Argan Oil at home, you can stock up on that as well!

You will find this indoor market a short walk (about 30 mins) West of Ajijic. If you are walking out stay on the North side of the road. This is a bicycle path along the main road which makes walking over much easier than trying to walk on the Cobblestones or on a dirt path.
The farmers' market is just past the French Bakery on the South side of the road. It opens at 10am and you will not be allowed in until that time.
Once the doors open people basically rush to the various kiosks that they regularly frequent as the line ups can be quite long. There was a pastry booth at the back of the market where the line up was consistently long while we were there. There is a great variety of food and goods available and many will offer you samples.

A lot of people really like this Tuesday event just west of Ajijic. I rarely go there because the prices are higher and there are a lot of prepackaged, commercially produced items. There are also vendors with ready made dinners that can be reheated and a lot of new-age style oils and soaps. More like a market you would find in the USA. I find the fruit and vegetables at better prices at the Monday market in Chapala.

The map location on TripAdvisor is incorrect as of today at least. La Huerta (orchard) is a location as in a neighborhood where the Farmers Market is. There is a street in West Ajijic by the same name which is not where the market is. Ask a local for more info.
This farmers market is excellent! We go every Tuesday! Take the bus west and get off at the cemetery. Take Mexican money and small bills as the vendors are very small business owners and can't make change for large bills. They do not haggle. The price is the price which is very reasonable. Bring a backpack or large shopping bag to carry home your purchases. If you want to buy eggs, it is good to bring your own carton.
The vegetables are fresh and just picked. The gluten free items are very good...surprisingly so. Don't miss the clothing and jewelry...way cool things I never saw again. The tamales are not recommended (FYI).
Catch the bus back to Ajijic or Chapala, standing just to the East end of the cemetery on the lakeside. You will see others there as well.
Freeze pies, quiche etc. for those days when you just want to stay in!
Enjoy. :)

The market in ajijic is a few minutes from the lake. The other market is a bus ride or cab ride from the lake.
We found it was best to ask a local business of the exact location and day of the week.

On the main road about a 5 minute ride from Ajijic center
It's on the left. Look for lots of parked cars.
