The malecon is frequented by families on the weekends, as well as tourists. Very colorful, kite flying, roller skating and just a glimpse of life in Ajijic. At one end of the malecon are the seafood restaurants, the biggest not being the best. We prefer...More

This is not a commercial location, but the Malecon (Boardwalk) along the South shore of Lake Chapala. There are a few restaurants along the way and a few benches to sit on. That's it

This place is a gathering place for the locals during the week and the visitors during the weekend. It is a great place to stroll at the end of the day. The place is also filled with people exercising along the malecon.

What a great area to walk and greet people early in the morning or during the evening. It would be great if you could walk all the way to Chapala.

Pleasant walk along the waterfront. Restaurants nearby. Evidently an important destination on weekends for the local people. Especially Chapala. My impressions: the balloon man should be floating away like Up. So many and many colors. Young people, hand in hand. Booths line the Chapala Malecon...More
