Ajijic Malecon

An interesting but brief walk. Some interesting features but prefer to walk around the cobbled streets.

Beautiful location, very clean and safe. Peaceful for a walk with a great view of the lake. Would highly recommend this for sightseeing and exercise. The area is very well maintained.

We're here for a week staying a block uphilll from the Melecon. About four blocks along Lake Chapala. Playground, skate park, bandshell, live music, families enjoying a Sunday evening. Fabulous, friendly people and adorable babies. Street vendors, dogs with sunglasses (really). Great evening.

A great place to walk, or sit and watch the view, sunset and all the people go by. There is plenty of space to walk and even places to exercise. Very clean and well kept.

Lakeside walk with tremendous view of Lake Chapala and easy access to lower city attractions. You will love the smoother surface after the stone streets in the town.

This is a perfectly lovely, clean lakefront walking area. Beautiful lake views with benches all along. Short walk, maybe 1/3 mile in length. There were children and their parents happily milling about. Really enjoyed walking the Malecon in Ajijic and felt totally safe.

Early evening the mosquitoes can be a bit fierce but it is a nice quiet stroll in the evening to walk off supper.

The malecon has a dual personality; at morning it is a haven for the retired gringos/gringas to get their morning constitutionals with or without their pets, stop for a chat with friends or just power walk their way up and down the one mile circuit. A few others can be seen working up a sweat on the city government exercise... More

Wonderful place to walk morning and night. Great to see all the locals enjoying friends, family, food and music. Sit and listen as people gather to jam, watch a pick up game of football or enjoy the sun rise or the moon and stars over the lake.

If you go to Ajijic or Chapala, it's a good idea to visit the Ajijic Malecon and take a walk. It's not something incredibly amazing but it's okay for a few hours. There's some nice things to buy. And sunsets can be nice on the lake.
