Spent two weeks in Ajijic and spent some time on the Malecon. Great spot with lovely views of the lake and mountains. Lot of activity especially on the weekends with kids playing and families have picnics, etc. The day we left, setup had begun for a festival with music, food, etc. Wish we could have stayed for it.

Beautiful Sunday morning stroll, met a very lovely Mexican women on the way, she turned around to thank us for continuing to support the local community in spite of our president.. so touching that she was compelled to tell us how many Mexicans feel towards U.S. citizens.

Nice and picturesque place for a stroll. It is also the flattest place in Ajijic. A few shops and vendors during the week. Very crowded on the weekends.

Nice views and wide walking area. Very safe during the day. Not a lot of activity but quiet and lots of families. The water level was low when we were there. Nice stroll and we enjoyed the sculptures and art work.

This is a small walkway and adjacent to the area are restaurants and stores. The area adjacent to the Lake is filled with Mexican families enjoying the outdoors, eating out, and playing with their children,. We were there during the day after New Year's and it was quiet and I felt safe. We had traveled from Guadalajara to do some... More

In the Malecon , you can find all the touristy things to do and some great restaurants, but the sunset on the Malecon (boardwalk) is just so relaxing, its worth the drive from Guadalajara
