I enjoyed spending a few hours here. Walked along waterfront, had a beer at a bar. Lots of families, children swimming although I personally wouldn’t trust the water. Serene atmosphere with nice views. Not much shade so bring a hat.

Today went to the malecon where we had parked the car. Booths were being set up for Semana Santa holidays. They even had modern porta potties. They have come a long way. Walking along the Malecon is a lovely thing to do. Enjoy the lake...More

Most days their are vendors andr entertainers. It is a great mix of locals and expats and a nice way to spend time outside. Very safe during the day. Probably would avoid after dark.

Ajijic has a beautiful Malecon that stretches about 3/4 of a kilometer. The walk along the shore of Lake Chapala also gives you great views of the mountains to the North. At the East end you will come upon some stalls selling goods and a...More

Nice view of the lake and if you feel like walking, easier on your feet than the cobblestone streets in town. Sometimes there are local dancers or other performers.

Has one very busy area with playground and picnic tables, walk further and it is all quiet and lovely gardens and sculptures. A few vendors and shops along the way. Lots of families in the one area.

I was impressed with this tiny malecon; it is NOT large and the narrow streets make driving an american style SUV pretty tough. However, I did like the color, the nature and it was fun hearing so much English being spoken.

I tried this place 3 time, each one worst than the other. And you might wonder why I kept going. I wanted to give them a second chance. 3 was enough. Also a friend that worked there told me there cleaning and food management standards...More

There are many restaurants within walking distance of where you’re staying and all are very good. My favourite is Cocinart by far! Tango is also very good with a large menu. You are in restaurant heaven so enjoy!
