Just visit if you are around, nothing there to do than to eat ice cream. You walk all of it in 5 minutes.

At first glance, there's not much to Parque Miguel Hidalgo. Just a park with a gazebo in the center, benches throughout, and surrounded on four sides by a preponderance of food shops. But this is culturally accurate, small town Mexico, and it's only about three blocks from the US/Mexico border. If you're looking for something like Olvera Street in LA, you're going to be disappointed. I only saw two small shops selling "typical touristy Mexican" stuff. But if you want an authentic small pueblo (town) experience complete with awesome street tacos and fresh juices, head down to Tecate and Parque Miguel Hidalgo.

So much fun on both a weekday and a weekend. GREAT spot! Lots of security presence. sidewalk cafes, couples, strolling musicians. really charming spot in the center of town, not far from the US border

This park is a must-visit for anyone going to Tecate. It's right in the middle of the downtown area, only a few blocks from the border crossing. The park has lots of places to sit, a gazebo, a fountain, and a bunch of beautiful plants and trees. It is surrounded by great restaurants and shops.

A cute, typically Mexican park. It is only a 5 min stroll from the border, and had a real mix of locals in it, with older people hanging out and playing board games, and young people playing and running about. Because this was off the tourist trail, there were no street vendors there to hassle us about buying little trinkets or souvenirs, which was nice.

This is a terrific place to absorb the local culture. I love just wandering around here, people watching, get a drink, and watch the world go by.

After getting a nice cup of coffee and some must have bread from the El Mejor Pan bakery, enjoy a nice stroll in the newly renovated park, it's quiet and quite relaxing

Tecate is a "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town) a title granted to small Mexican towns or villages for keeping their traditions, foods, and beauty. This is exactly what Tecate is. One can enjoy this little plaza where time seems to freeze.
Its quite and friendly enviroment are a perfect setting to enjoy part of the day sitting on one of the benches just enjoying life. There are a few coffee shops with desserts that make it a good option to enjoy an afternoon. Now, El Buen Pan de Tecate bakery is just two blocks away. Get some of this fine pastry and relax in this beautiful place.

This probably is the main central area to Tecate. Peaceful and relaxing. Vendor booths for items and souvenirs.
