This park is a must-visit for anyone going to Tecate. It's right in the middle of the downtown area, only a few blocks from the border crossing. The park has lots of places to sit, a gazebo, a fountain, and a bunch of beautiful plants and trees. It is surrounded by great restaurants and shops.…

Just visit if you are around, nothing there to do than to eat ice cream. You walk all of it in 5 minutes.

A cute, typically Mexican park. It is only a 5 min stroll from the border, and had a real mix of locals in it, with older people hanging out and playing board games, and young people playing and running about. Because this was off the tourist trail, there were no street vendors there to hassle us about buying little trinkets or souvenirs, which was nice. …

At first glance, there's not much to Parque Miguel Hidalgo. Just a park with a gazebo in the center, benches throughout, and surrounded on four sides by a preponderance of food shops. But this is culturally accurate, small town Mexico, and it's only about three blocks from the US/Mexico border. If you're looking for something like Olvera Street in LA, you're going to be disappointed. I only saw two small shops selling "typical touristy Mexican" stuff. But if you want an authentic small pueblo (town) experience complete with awesome street tacos and fresh juices, head down to Tecate and Parque Miguel Hidalgo.…
