This Basilica was one of the highlights of our day trip, and guided tour, to the Isle of Orleans. As soon as we drove up to the place, we noticed how magnificent and impressive the huge exterior was. It is hard to tell yourself that...More

Just the exterior of the Sanctuary is impressive. It reminded me so much of the cathedrals in Europe, but this one is right in our own "backyard". The interior is even more impressive. It is clean and well-kept. Take note that from the outside, you...More

My mother always wanted to come here, apparently when her ancestors came from France they stopped here to give thanks for their safe passage. We planned a day here, but were disappointed that so much was closed: The Museum, The Santa Scalia, even the Cafeteria...More

Architectural beauty with a spiritual inclination. 30 minutes from Quebec City, this setting allows you to reflect on your good fortune and be thankful for all your blessings. Not a religious guy but it's always nice to show appreciation.

Unless you are a devout Catholic I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but as we were passing by we stepped in to see this famous pilgrimage destination.

I love churches - there is something surreal and transcendent about them. This is right up there with some of the biggies. A beautiful and holy place -well worth the 20 minute drive from Quebec City. I had heard of it but knew little about...More

The cathedral is fully accessible. There is an elevator to move from the different levels. It is a bit off the usual hallways but it is easy to find. There would be no issue with manoeuving a personal mobility scooter... More
