Ship is not a cruise ship but a ferry to the islands. Cabins are very small but ship has many lounge areas. But the destination was the reason for this booking. We chose the Flavours package which was the best choice for seeing all the islands with a very excellent guide and we ate at 5 different restaurants, all delicious. Also many craft sites were visited and more food tastings.

Our original trip was modified because of the hurricane Dorian. At first, naturally everyone on board was disappointed although we understood that passengers' safety was paramount. The captain, the crew and the personnel did an incredible job of finding another port, different activities and entertainment. We have nothing but praise for our experience. Yes, the ship is old, and the cabins are small and narrow, but the personnel was at all times, competent, patient, funny, informative, smiling, available, helpful, and so on. The food was very good and varied, and always served promptly and with a smile. As for the Islands, they are unique by their beauty, their people, the culture.

It was a very smooth and enjoyable trip with CTMA vacancier. The staff was really helpful and spoke both languages. The food was just amazing and they accommodated our food allergy. A big thanks to the team who were prepared really well prepared for the last show on board especially Remy Langlois, Brigitte Leblanc for their performance in addition to the talented violinist (who i cant remember the name if anyone can help me with this). I highly recommend it!!

We had very smooth crossings between Souris, PE and the islands. Boat was comfortable and well equipped. Food on board was reasonably priced. The crossing fee itself is quite expensive.

Should you wish to visit the pleasant, enjoyable and quiet islands of Lies de la Madeleine, QC, you have the choice of taking the CTMA Vacancier Ferry from Montreal on a 7-day trip, or drive to PEI and take the day Ferry, or fly. We as a family took the 7-day Ferry from Montréal and this covers some of our experience: Arrival at the Port of Montreal, to the Port Terminal building., where we picked up our little plastic Boarding Pass. We then took the coach to the Ferry. On arrival we were told to stay in the Bar area from 1:30 PM to 6 PM, as the crew were delivering our cases to the cabins. We queued at 5 PM for dinner, accommodating 350 passengers, two line ups to a small cafeteria. You may notice the theme of this trip description is Tiny and Queuing. The Ferry is 47 years old and only approx. 11,500 tons displacement. Way past its prime, it looks as if its never been refurbished! On arrival at the cabin we were shocked at the tiny size of the cabin, the small bunks and in the bathroom, which was also tiny, the toilet was half in the shower stall! Not a great first impression. Mind you, when I saw the inside cabins, I felt for those people who booked them! Day one of the trip, again the need to queue up for Breakfast. You needed to get to the cafeteria for 0700, open @ 0730, otherwise a long wait in the queue. The consistent 7-day breakfast was cereal, eggs either boiled or fried, potatoes, sausages/bacon, French toast etc. A minimal selection. Lunch again daily queuing up required and minimal food choice. Food OK, BUT nowhere near the food on a cruise ship by any means. I can remember 4 meals that were up to the quality I anticipated. Four sea days, the Ferry is crowded, dirty old carpets, minimal communications on the 7 Day trip. Minimal communications by the ship's staff (we had whale issues), bad cabin ventilation, the cabins are damp, and maintenance at the minimal. E.g. A toilet in the men’s public toilet, with the door open all the time, was flushing (vacuum flush) every minute or two for the whole 7 days! The Ferry is old, an old design, package is very overpriced, and poor value. The only shining light of the trip was the 2 1/2-day tours conducted by Sylvie Leblanc. A great personality, has great pride in Lies de la Madeleine, and knowledgeable on the islands. In closing, you have the choice of taking the CTMA Vacancier Ferry from Montreal on a 7-day trip, or drive to Prince Edward Island and take the day Ferry. Check the price on the CTMA web site and call them, you make your opinion on the cost and value. I wish I had seen this report first!!!!!!!!!

Hello We have been familiar with your comment and thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can only respond to this one by informing you that the satisfaction rate of our customers is almost 97%. On the other hand, we are working to replace our boat because, although we invest several hundred thousand dollars each year to improve it, it will be more comfortable and enjoyable to change it. Thank you and have a good day.
