Local theatre playhouse in the Village of Victoria by the Sea. Shows run all summer long - check out their website for listings. Very reasonable pricing. We were delighted to get tickets to Follow The Fiddler - a narrated walking tour of Victoria. This was an 'outdoor' play - we followed The Narrator, Erskine Smith, and The Fiddler through town and actors came out from behind a building; etc. and acted out a scene; told tales; sang songs. And as we walked away from each scene our narrator said; and now we'll follow the fiddler and as we walked strolled the streets lovely Cynthia MacLeod entertained us with Celtic fiddle tunes. Have never done anything quite like this. It was delightfully entertaining and one of the highlights our our Prince Edward Island trip. Perfect for all ages too!

We went to see "The Melville Boys", a Norm Foster comedy at this wonderful venue. The seating is comfortable and every seat has a great view. The venue is thankfully air conditioned, great for a matinee on a hot July day. The play was well executed, the young actors bringing the story to life on a wonderful set with great... More

Thank you for your glowing review. Here at the Victoria Playhouse we work hard to bring you the highest quality live theatre within our means. And YES, air conditioning is a big bonus. We presented 22 seasons without it! More

Always enjoyable to attend a production at the Victoria Playhouse. Lovely setting and beautiful theatre. The focus is on the play and the acting, where it should be. Melville Boys was entertaining and well presented. Not our favourite production (Kiss the moon, Kiss the Sun would be) but still worthwhile.

Went to see the Melville Boys at the Victoria Playhouse. It was advertised as a "classic comedy", but I think that it should be advertised as a drama. The seats in row D were excellent. The acting was very good too. It was a very good play, but certainly not the comedy that I expected when purchasing the tickets. Although... More

Thank you for your thoughts on The Melville Boys. There are certainly many strong dramatic moments in the play. We hope to welcome you back to the Playhouse again soon. More

Purchased tickets online a few days before the show while visiting PEI. . Excellent seats, row C. The show was very good, most parts were very funny, a few parts sad, the final ending, very good. Victoria has a few good restaurants to eat at before the show, but best to make reservations. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were here for the opening night of "The Melville Boys". We ordered tickets ahead of time and had great seats. It's a wonderfully small and intimate playhouse and we had a great time.

This venue was recommended to us as a great way to spend the evening and it did not disappoint. It is a small theatre with 150 seats, quite comfortable, in an old school house. Victoria is on the south coast of PEI and even though we were staying in Cavendish on the north shore, nothing in PEI is ever very... More

Hello, We are pleased you enjoyed your evening with us at the Victoria Playhouse. I thought you would be interested to know that the Victoria Community Hall (which houses the Victoria Playhouse) was never a schoolhouse. It was built in 1914-1915 as a performance hall and is a Designated Historic Place. More

A lovely evening in quaint Victoria By The Sea. A quiet and serene walk up to the playhouse and a smart, interesting & wonderful play called Rope's End. We had been here earlier in the summer to see another production, Sexy Laundry, and loved our evening. A must-visit while in PEI

Been to the Playhouse many times and always have enjoyed the play. Theatre is small but quite cozy and intimate. Victoria itself is a quaint little village that enjoys many tourists in summer months.

Took in a play while in Victoria, called Ropes End. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was rewarded with an excellent show. Only two actors, and minimal set, but great story and even better performance by the actors.

We saw a daytime performance of Sexy Laundry. The two actors were fantastic. The theatre is true to it's reputation, "a hidden gem...an historic building and an intimate theatre." The daytime performance was sold out as there was a tour group, so get your ticket early if possible, i.e. we purchased ours a couple hours prior to the performance and... More

We are pleased you enjoyed the matinee performance of SEXY LAUNDRY. Just a small note to correct - we actually have three not two washrooms. And as our late artistic director, Erskine Smith, used to say - "intermission is as long as the washroom line-up". Hope to see you in Victoria again soon! More
