A historic cemetary where Lucy Maud Montgomery was buried in 1942. She was the known author who wrote Anne of the Green Gables.

Most people visit to see Lucy Maud Montgomery's grave, which is somewhat of a shrine. However, this little cemetery also contains an interesting collection of some unusual nineteenth century headstones and epitaphs.

We were very awed to get to visit the grave of L.M. Montgomery, her husband, mother, and grandmother. However, we were taken aback that the cemetary arch proclaims not the name of the burial ground but the name of L.M. Montgomery. We expected something a...More

Lucy Maud Montgomery's final resting spot in just around the corner from Green Gables park. Her grave is easy to find. Follow the path from the arched gateway, or look for (real only) flowers.

It was a surreal experience to walk along the pathway that led to L.M. Montgomery's final resting place and to hear the waves from the nearby ocean that was so dear to her. Having read her journals, it was obvious that PEI held her heart,...More

As part of visiting Green Cables Heritage Place, my sister and I went to Lucy Maud Montgomery's final resting place. It was fitting that this author is so close to the special place she memorialized in her classic tales of Anne of Green Gables. She...More

It's a cemetery so the big draw here is LM Montgomery's grave. There are always flowers and the occasional note or poem brought by fans from all over the world. The gravestones are old and history buffs may find them interesting.

While it might seem somewhat strange or even macabre to review a cemetery, the Cavendish Cemetery merits at least a brief comment because of its historical significance. What is its claim to fame? Well, the large iron arch proclaims that the cemetery is the resting...More

Lucy Maude Montgomery's grave site is the main attraction here but the entire property is very well maintained and worth a stroll around. Many old tombstones are found and make for interesting reading.

While visiting Green Gables we walked to the cemetery. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed our walk. We could have easily driven and parked across the road to visit the cemetery, had we not felt like walking.

If you're a Lucy Maude Montgomery fan you'll appreciate this site. If not, then it won't mean much to you. For my daughter and I, both Anne fans, it was honouring to her to visit here.
