Cute old house

A replica of what Anne's house was expected to be. Small cost to get in. Interesting tour of the old house and woods surrounding it.

We enjoyed the tour through Green Gables, seeing as it was in the early 1900's. The barn had original equipment used at the time. All staff were dressed in period costume. Many of the girls looked like Anne! Staff were very friendly and available to answer any questions. The surrounding property has flower and vegetable gardens. There are paths to... More

An excellent active experience gor all. The homestead tour, as well as the hike through the Haunted wood along with the short quotations of L.M. Montgomery's created an entertaining and active learning opportunity.

I think my expectations were low given the huge touristy vibe of the Cavendish area, and I expected my visit to be crowded... but it was so lovely! Perhaps my later afternoon visit (2-4pm) helped to avoid some of the crowd. I did a combo ticket which included access to Lucy Maud's former home site across the Haunted Woods, which... More

Being a huge Anne of Green Gables fan, I found this site to not be as exciting as I was anticipating. I wandered through the house and grounds, guess I can now say I saw it. There is a gift shop on site as usual. If you have a park pass and are planning on using it to cover your... More

The house reminded me of my own, which is of the same vintage. Personally I don' think that mid-19th century is something to crow about. The displays were very accurate, but boring. I've seen better period things in house sales or small auctions. The attendants who were dressed in so-called period costumes were rude and uninspired. Maybe they were not... More

As neither of us had ever read the "Anne of Green Gables" books I was surprised when my wife suggested a visit. The house is well maintained and equipped with period furnishings, and it was interesting to visit the exhibition on the history of the farm in one of the outbuildings. The walks through the woodlands were pleasant and the... More

Wonderful historical building and setting that brings the LM Montgomery era to life. Great walk through the haunted woods and a bit of history in the graveyard.

Green Gables was a fantastic experience - make sure you reread L.M. Montgomery's novel before going! Beautiful grounds with a nice combination of historical background, scenic gardens and hiking trails. Definitely don't miss the trails - they are fairly easy and refer to Anne's own adventures.

Not being a Fan of the books, this was still an enjoyable and pleasant visit. They day we visited, there were activities for the Children with "Anne and Diana". Due to the commercialization of the surrounding areas, there is not a lot of walking and only a small walking trail. Great if you have small children.
