    Enjoyable Experience
It has been about 9 years since my prior visit to Sandbanks Estate Winery. I recall it being a wonderful experience on that prior visit. I was pleasantly surprised to see the extensive renovations and family friendly atmosphere on my recent visit. The Staff were pleasant, took the time to answer all queries, were very accommodating and most attentive. The ambience and entertainment was exceptional. I also very much like that management took the time & effort to place buckets of child blocks around, for the wee ones to play with while the Moms, Dads, Aunties, Uncles, etc were able to relax in the ample Muskoka type chairs, enjoy the entertainment and sample the incredible wines. They didn't forget about the doggies ... providing an adjacent off leash dog park as well. The prices for its wines are very reasonable, to say nothing of their excellent quality. As it was around lunch time, we took advantage of ordering from the on site food truck ... my the lobster rolls were tasty. Top marks all around. My friend and I had a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be back!

Great wine variety at Sandbanks Winery
Have been going to Sandbanks winery for years. The wine is so good and we bought a case and a half again this year. Our tasting experience was disappointing this year. Went from 5 tastings to 3. Would have liked to have tried 2 red and 2 white. In addition, we had no information or experience with the 2 young men outside. They just took our money and poured the wine. There was no animation or discussion on the wines, where we were from, etc. Hope to have someone different next year.

    Lovely place
Very nice stop to check out. Welcoming setting. No pressure to buy and the price for tasting is very reasonable. I love the out door area that we could on the lawn. The colorfull chair are IG ready. Next time we will book reservations and have a cheese board brunch.

    Loved the grounds
Wasn’t planning to stop here but I’m glad we did. The wine tasting was fun and we then selected a glass to take out with us so we could enjoy the grounds. Lots of seating, from patios to porches to grass, comfy sofas, picnic tables, muskoka chairs. There’s even a food truck on the premises where you can grab a bite or just order a charcuterie box to have with your wine. Will definitely return.

Wine was quite good! Definitely a must-do in PEC. Went off season, (October 31) but was able to sit outside by the fire pits after our tasting which was a pleasant experience. COVID protocols in place helped us feel safe and the tasting generously permitted trying 6 wines each. Not a "free" tasting by any means as you have buy two bottles afterwards (ave. price $20). Thankfully we had a coupon for an actually free tasting for four. However, if you love the wine then you shouldn't have an issue buying two bottle, I guess! It was cool being able to try and buy the Winery Exclusive bottles that are not sold at LCBO.

Thank you for the 5-star review! Meeting and exceeding guest expectations is something we strive to do on a daily basis. Thank you for appreciating the safety protocols we have put in place and mentioning how much you enjoyed your tasting. We are happy to learn you were able to use your tasting passport and forgo the $10 tasting fee for the samples you and the additional three guests enjoyed. We look forward to your return!

Had an amazing wine tasting on Sunday, August 16. We were a group of six and we didn't have a reservation but the host fit us in at a tasting table with Rachael. She did a great job explaining the wines and giving us suggestions for what to try next. AWe all have very different tastes in wine and she could recommend different wines for all of us. She was also helping another group of 4. She split her time evenly and made sure everyone had a great experience. All six people in my group bought at least two bottles of wine. Thank you again, Rachael!

Lovely little winery, did a tasting which was very generous, 5 pours for $10! Most wineries I’ve been to do 3 for the same price or more. Loved all the wines we tried, and our server Kailynn was very sweet and took lots of time to make recommendations to us for other wineries, and went out of her way to even find us a travel guide for us to take. She definitely shaped a good experience into a great one! I would highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area.

I did a winery tasting with Kailynn and bought half a dozen wines at Sandbanks Estate Winery. I would 100% recommend anyone visiting the county to check out this winery as your first stop and ask for Kailynn! She was generous with the wine tasting glasses, knowledgeable, and made great conversations. The winery itself is very nice - multiple outdoor bars and lawn chairs to sit and soak in the scenery. I went on a Friday and they had a live local musician which was the cherry on top! I really enjoyed my visit and would come back again.

My family and I had a wonderful wine tasting with Peter. We were greeted at the front of the building, and were politely asked screening questions prior to entry for our pre-booked tasting. The staff were all very attentive and friendly, we felt safe the entire time. Peter guided us through the wine list, and recommended great wines for us. Despite the current public health situation, we had a great time! We will visit again soon!

We went to Sandbanks Estate Winery on July 1st, 2021. To start we had to make a reservation and I did for 130pm. However I did not take into account extra traffic or accidents and we quickly discovered what should have been a simple 1 hour and 44 minutes was about to take us over 3 hours. Meaning we would miss our reservation. Along the route I called the winery to ask if there had been any evening reservations open up as I knew we were gonna miss our 130 reservation. Victoria answered the phone and she was great! Super cheerful and totally understanding of our situation. I told her I knew we could enjoy wine by the glass without reservation and we would just do that. She informed me we could actually purchase the flight of wine for tasting ourselves if we liked. Super helpful so we went with that in mind. Many hours later we reached and the front staff were amazing and led us to have a guided tasting even tho we had missed our reservation by hours! Zoe and Maddy took us on our Sandbanks wine adventure and were amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable always answering my questions or finding the answer from workmates with more experience. It was great fun to here about all their personal favorites and thoughts about wine as well as share our own. Zoe gave great recommendations that led to more tasting and purchases of wine I wouldn't ever think to try. As well Maddy told us in depth how blended wines were made and all about the flagship Baco Noir. At the end of our visit the even recommended us a great local place to eat burgers (my partners favorite food) just down the street about 6 minutes to Millwood brew house. Thank you for such a lovely date day and sharing all your wine knowledge with us.
If anything I could suggest different is I didn't appreciate having all my tastings in the same glass. It may have taken away from each unique wine (esp the Reds) but I understand in CoVID times things are being done differently. Maybe consider disposable cups or bio degradable cups. I'm not sure the solution but it was a down fall for me personally. Otherwise everything was fantastic and thank you for accommodating us.

Had a wonderful time at Sandbanks Winery. It was our last stop on a day of winery tours and it was definitely a high point of the day. Katie N. was a very knowledgeable and friendly host. She really made an effort to ensure that we were not only enjoying our wines but learning about them as well. Would recommend doing the wine tasting to anyone who visits Prince Edward County.

My favourite County winery just got even better! We went yesterday and it was their second day offering this type of tasting. 6 preselected wines paired with food and we got to bring our glass home after. The selection of wines was just right and everyone in our group of 6 adults enjoyed it. The wines selected are not sold at the LCBO, which makes it even more interesting. The young staff is knowledgeable, friendly and simply made our experience the best one of the day ! Hope they keep this Covid format in the future as you stay with your group and move to different stations. It was a really positive experience for us.

A group of girls and I visited PEC to do a self-guided wine tour and Sandbanks was our first stop. Out of the 5 we visited, it was hands down our favourite for experience and wines. I love that their wines are affordable but still taste amazing - I highly recommend purchasing their two signatures: the Sauvignon Blanc and the Quinte Apple Wine.
I also want to give Zita & Rachel a shoutout as they made our visit so enjoyable with their friendly nature and definitely added to our experience as we felt like we learned a lot about wines through the tasting.
I can’t wait to come back and will for sure be purchasing more wine from them!

We appreciate customer feedback to ensure we are on the right track. Knowing you discovered two Winery Exclusives and thought they were something special makes our day. The Sandbanks staff play a large role in picking the apples to make the Bay of Quinte Apple wine you enjoyed. In addition, they work hard to ensure you enjoy your stay and learn something new along the way. Have a great day and thank you once again.

This was overall one of our favorite winneires in PEC. Peter, was very knowledgeable and made our experience enjoyable compared to the other winneries in the area. The wine tasted really good and bottles were reasonably priced. There was live music and everyone was following social distance measures. Will definitely come back!
