We visited the workshop during a hot and sunny day and were the only visitors. We were explained about the work, while it was ongoing and then went to the shop when the master had to make a pause. I have never seen things like his so far. Some works were extremely beautiful and exceptional and at the same time... More

My daughter in law and I visited Armstrong Glassworks today and enjoyed our time in both the studio and in watching Mark create a piece as he explained the process. His explanation was thorough and fascinating! Hearing how clear, slightly aqua coloured glass was turned into swirls of opaque colour created by the changing temperatures was quite magical. Mark's passion... More

We visited this working studio twice during out stay in Wellington. Mark welcomed us and toured us through his showroom full of beautiful glass pieces, and he gave us a fully narrated 45 minute glassblowing demonstration as he masterfully crafted a multicoloured bowl.

We visited this place while on vacation. The owner was so friendly and spent a lot of time with us explaining different ways of blowing glass and making items. Beautiful pieces, both reasonably priced and some very expensive - but oh so beautiful!

Popped in while visiting the area. Could watch glass blowing through a window. Looked like they were teaching tourists how to make glass. Might be fun to try. Some beautiful glass pieces, but most that i liked were way out of my budget. Not saying they weren't worth it, just a bit high for me.

We dropped by on a Saturday afternoon and waited a bit while Mark handled the shop to be able to sit inside the workshop next doors and see him blow glass. What a great time we had and Mark was so descriptive during the whole process. It was amazing to watch him in action.

We happened to drive by & see this place & stopped to see what was for sale. As it happened, there was a tour in progress & we stayed to watch. It was fascinating watching him fashion a pear out of a piece of glass, making it seem like it was so easy. He was very gracious & happy to... More
