First thing I noticed being a 6 foot guy is there is plenty of leg room in the theatre. The sound system is not bad and the seats quite comfortable. A glass of wine is $6.00 a beer$5,00 so not a ripe off here either. Enjoyed the play and the theatre itself. you will too!

The Capitol Theatre is located in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada and is the last fully restored “atmospheric movie theatre” still in operation in Canada. Constructed in 1930, the interior resembles a courtyard surrounded by a forest. It was one of the first cinemas in Canada built expressly for talking pictures. This beautiful heritage building should be supported by anyone who... More

Visiting Port Hope for the day and came across the theatre playing Crazy For You. We've seen it before but this production was wonderful and really well done. The theatre is beautiful too! Will definitely go again.

What a lovely theatre. Quaint and friendly. The shows are really well done, no seats where you can't see. The staff is warm and friendly. Nice place to go for a show and a meal in the town. Will go back for sure

Great little theatre with a wonderful homey feeling. Check out the ceiling if you go. We saw an Eagles tribute band there and they looked and sounded just like the original band. By the end we were all dancing and jumping around in the aisles. A good time was had by all!

The Capitol Theatre has offered many high quality performances over the years. The theatre is beautiful inside and staffed by very nice and efficient volunteers. The latest performance of "The Secret Garden", was extremely well done by very talented local folks. The Capitol draws many great attractions to its stage. I don't think there's a bad seat in the place.... More
