My husband, who is a steam enthusiast, loved this museum. He was in heaven looking at the carriages and artefacts. I enjoyed the station master’s house and the miniature train layouts. The museum was much larger than it first appears.

Stopped in after visiting Fortress Louisburg. Lots of stuff to see and for train buffs it would be great. The museum is run by volunteers so don't expect the displays to be as professional as ones you pay an admission fee. I'm sure funding is...More
This property is maintained by a group of volunteers to preserve the history of the S&L railroad. They have a very informative brochure, probably the best part of the attraction.
