Enjoyable experience

I have attended several performances at T B over the last few years. The offering this month, the Hydrofoil mysteries was a true delight, well worth seeing. I would recommend to anyone visiting or from the Cape Breton area to make it a point to take in a performance of this unique little theater group.

Myth of the Ostrich

Enjoyed this wonderful performance by Theatre Baddeck. It felt so good to laugh out loud so often during this entertaining story of misunderstandings. All three actresses were well cast. The set was colourful and delightful to the eye. I also enjoyed the selections of songs used to support the time and setting. Well done all! I highly recommend Theatre Baddeck as something to take in while visiting in Baddeck. I have yet to be disappointed by any of their performances and you certainly will not be disappointed if you have an opportunity to see this one!

Superb Drama Experience

Theatre Baddeck delivered an amazing production of the delightful and entertaining drama titled, The Hydrofoil Mystery, written by Christy MacRae-Ziss. The acting was amazing and set design superbly inventive. This feel good, riveting, quick moving story, captured audience attention and imagination. The evening was thoroughly enjoyable.

Myth of the Ostrich an absolute hoot!!

We thoroughly enjoyed The Myth of the Ostrich last Saturday in Baddeck. It was very well-done, the acting was superb, and we were sore from laughing-an overall great performance!! We very much appreciated that masks were required to be worn throughout the play. It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed a delicious meal on the outdoor patio at the Freight Shed after the show. A wonderful day in Baddeck!!!!

stunningly entertaining 3-ring comedy by 2 talented actors

These two actors are so amazing, so musically accomplished, their theatre arts and mime chops are so great that they can assume many different and hilarious characters, sometimes with the drop of eyeglasses or slumping into a limp. Oh and the Cape Breton Glace Bay place is prominent, that company house set! and the writing was great. and the ending so sweet. The audience laughed and pounded the floor and clapped all the way through.

Outside Mullingar-Theatre Baddeck review

My husband and I enjoyed the production of Outside Mullingar. The acting was great. The venue less than ideal. It smells quite bad which was noticeable throughout the show despite having to wear a mask while indoors. I have enjoyed all of the Theatre Baddeck productions that I have been fortunate to attend since its inception but it will be nice when the productions can be experienced in a better venue. It is always impressive to see what a cast and crew can manage to do within the limitations of the current venue. Hopefully at some point in the future there will be an opportunity for this theatre to grow and flourish. Thank you for a lovely evening of live theatre.

I’ll be back!

I had a three day visit to Baddeck so I decided to get tickets for myself and two relatives. I love live performances…. We were in the front row… the actors were all fabulous and the quaint theatre atmosphere was just what I was hoping for from this special Cape Breton village!

Very good for small town performing arts

Actors were very talented despite limited backdrop features. Made the play work well by sheer acting talent despite lack of big city theatre facilities. Adults in our group of eight loved it as well as the 12 year old twins.

We saw Lauchie, Liza & Rory while in Baddeck. It was a nice story and entertaining. Small theatre with good acoustics. One actor, one actress playing multiple parts…switching roles was quite well done. Worth an evening out!

Outstanding

What a terrific evening! We were fortunate to attend the opening evening at it was simply outstanding. From the time we were greeted at the front door to the performances on stage this event was first class. As season ticket holders to Neptune Theatre for several years, this play was equal to any that we have seen at Neptune. Congrats to all. A first class theatre experience in a small and intimate local theatre.
