This was our first time going to Rising Tide Theater. We purchased our tickets in person. The staff was friendly and very knowledgable. The show was second to none!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. In fact, we purchased tickets to a different show for the following night. The director remembered us from the night before which was very nice. It made us feel very much appreciated!! We will definitely see more shows in the coming years.

A touch of Newfoundland history

We managed to get tickets just before the end of season. There were less than 20 patrons. We saw a one act, two actor play that touched on a number of events in local history. Very well acted, in an intimate setting! A fun evening.

Initially I wasn't too impressed to be taken to a theater in what to all intents is a VERY SMALL town. However, if you roll into Trinity, and you really should as it is simply stunning. Please go to this place, it is extremely well run and the play we saw was fantastic. Can't say a bad thing about the place or the theater.

A rich review of local history wrapped in a love story
Sep 2019 • Couples
This 35 year old 2 actor play Salt Water Moon is at one level a simple love story of a young man trying to win back the affections of a girl he jilted to go to the mainland for work. But the author skillfully weaves into the plot many themes of Newfoundland history, Beaumont Hamel, orphanages, and class warfare. Very well acted by two young actors on a simple stage. Wonderful theatre experience.

The play called: Naming of Port Rexton was rich. I mean that the content of the play was full of history ,culture, humour and real character. The actors were excellent. Of course the best songs were performed by the best voices. The venue in town was at a good location with free parking . A bit dark at night when you get out.Head straight out and don't veer left. Buy your tickets in advance. The audience was comprised of locals- near and far as well as the far out of towners such as ourselves. I strongly recommend this for an evening.

Very Entertaining

We went to a Saturday night dinner show. The entertainment was a lot of fun and entertaining. The actors were professional quality, good musicians and singers. The three of us all had the roast beef dinner because a friend warned us to not have the cod au gratin. The roast beef dinner was mediocre. Typical banquet roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy - with some mashed turnip to boot.

Who would expect professional theater in a location so remote. This is our second trip from Texas to Newfoundland and Rising Tide is one of the reasons we came back.

Must See Experience
Aug 2019 • Couples
We went to the dinner theatre. The catered meal is a choice of fish or beef, it is fairly basic but they are feeding 100 people for the dinner theatre. This was great fun and the entertainment was amazingly good. After a week I am still singing some of the musical numbers in my head. The skits are hilariously funny and the music is both fun and touching. Don.t miss it!

Delighful

We attended the Trinity Pageant in which actors take you on a short walk through the town as they enact different stories about the early days of Trinity. It is a fun, interactive and unique experience and probably the least expensive theatre we have ever attended. I would caution those who have ,mobility issues as the roads are gravel and there is one steep section to go up, but it was a great way to learn the history of the area through stories and songs.
