Lunch

Beautiful, quaint little gift shop and Cafe. Right across from the ocean. It has a lot of nice souvenirs and other gifts. Worth a stop.

It is fun to look around, some nice sweaters, but the place is cluttered with stuff and the usual Newfoundland souvenirs. It also smelled of bacon when we were there and they should consider a ventilation system now that they are serving food, otherwise the smells will drive out potential customers.

The gift shop is jam packed. We did not eat there as we have a few other favourite restaurants in the area when we go. But there were lots of seated customers. Not sure if the crafts are very authentic to Newfoundland but lots of things to buy in different price ranges.

We dropped by here, quite by chance after a long drive. We ate a simple but very good lunch here. The service was typically Newfoundland: extremely nice and homely. As said the food here is simple but so very good. After leaving we poked our head by the kitchen and could see the person in the kitchen kneading dough, with... More

Fine for a quick lunch. Home made and tasty. we had pea soup and fish chowder, both local staples, and while they were not the best we've had, they were tasty. Also an overwhelming array of kitschy souvenirs.

The Treasure Box is a gift shop selling chotchkies and souvenirs, but also has a kitchen. I ordered a combination plate that included the salted cod fishcakes, baked beans, and toutons. The fishcakes were formed with more cake than fish and lacked a nice crispy exterior, but still maintained a tasty flavor. The baked beans were very standard fair, while... More
