Filled with renditions of popular Newfoundland and Labrador songs and tunes, sprinkled with one-liners and wit and occasional display of culture, this group of five has become one of the most widely-attended acts in the whole province. Almost by accident, and practically overnight, the ANCHORS AWEIGH band has found its way onto the list of "things-to-do" for local residents and visitors alike.

We were unable to stay at the hotel as it was fully booked, however we did enjoy an evening of entertainment in the pub. Kitchen parlour entertainment the night we were there. Instruments were handed out so we could all join in with the singing. Even the staff were singing along - good fun.

This the place to be in Newfoundland!! The entertainment from this group is beyond words to describe. 4 men play the drums, accordion guitar and a wooden manufacture--similar to the sounds of "spoons". All music is sung with a mixture of Irish and traditional Newfoundland. As well as singing, jokes are interspersed thru out the concert. This is not appropriate... More

3 hours of wonderful music & jokes & story telling. They are incredibly talented. If you are in the area you must get tickets! Cash only. You will not be disappointed. They will play a song at the end for every province or state you are from. We bought their cdc to enjoy again & again!

We laughed for 3 hours during this comedy/music show! (They only took a 15 minute break). These talented guys are boat captains too on Bonne Bay and play all sorts of music -not just NFLD tunes. If you are visting the West Coast of NFLD you need to go there. Met a lovely couple form Peterborough,Ontario. It was the last part... More

We had heard that the seats fill up quickly so decided to eat at the pub where the band plays. The service wasn't that great from our initial waitress but the next waitress was nicer. The menu is limited on the nights that anchors aweigh plays not even allowing minor substitutions for a burger. But I digress... The band was... More

That was the best entertainment ever!!! At first we thought oh 3 hour show - that is long we will probably not stay for the whole show. We could not leave. It was so much fun and so entertaining. Book ahead - it was packed. You can order pub fare. Have not laughed so much in a very long time.... More

A must see show. Book ahead as the chances are minimum to none to get in if you're on the waiting list. Goes to show what a great show this is! Great music and great jokes. Frequented by tourists as well as locals. Some of the talents in this group also run the BonTours boat tours and are a joy... More

Truly enjoyed this talented group .... It is a sold out show ... And hard to get tickets. They perform three nights a week. Go early to get good seats ... A hint ... There is a slightly elevated spot to the right of the stage and you have great sight lines. The group is excellent and you certainly get... More

Great pub with good food and excellent service. We couldn't get reservations for the musical production on Wed. But we joined other travellers at the Thursday evening Kitchen Party featuring great local music and story telling. The musical production that we couldn't get tickets for is so popular you need to book well in advance.is so popular

Group is very entertaining. Energy galore. Not what I would call a kitchen party but extremely good local talent. No fiddle music which we were hoping for but they made up for it in energy and fun. Show only on every other day so hard to get tickets when on a short stay. Book in advance of arrival. Any seat... More
