We walked out there after dinner to see a great sunset and we weren't disappointed. Walked a fair bit out to lighthouse and along the shore line. Hoped to see Caribou but were not fortunate to see them but a great walk nevertheless.

Visited the visitor center and felt that was enough for us. Could have driven or walked the archaeology sites but did not seem necessary.

We visited the light house and the Interpretive centre. The documentary they presented was excellent and showed the development of the area's geology and people. We saw a number of Caribou who were quite indifferent to our presence. The coastline was unique and worth some...More

We really liked Port Au Choix. A fishing village that seemingly has just got on with their daily lives without changing for the sake of tourism. Therefore it has wonderful authenticity. Stayed there for four nights in total, going to and from St Anthony and Labrador....More

This site is educational and important. It tells the story of some of the very earliest people in our history. In addition, there are beautiful hiking trails, stunning ocean views, a great lighthouse to photograph, and a resident herd of caribou were an unexpected but...More

The interpretive centre is well done. The theme is the history of the arrival of several waves of indigenous peoples (indian and inuit) prior to the colonization by Europeans. There is a short introductory film and some well-done exhibits. The gift shop is worth a...More

This is a interesting stop on a tour of Newfoundland. It is the only olace that we saw caribou--near the Point Richie llight house. The views from the area are very good.

The unique coastline, big sky and beautiful views of the St. Lawrence Seaway were a highlight of our recent trip up the Great Northern Peninsula in NL. Some of those rock formations are so unique, so beautiful in such a rough environment, I am still...More

We had heard there was a heard of Caribou living out near the lighthouse so we stopped off to see if we could see them. Hiked around for a couple of hours but no luck. Seems they are more active in the early AM and...More

Depends on your kids. There is not a lot to do there. The archeological points are interesting if you are into that sort of thing but other than that it is pretty barren land. We saw several caribou while there so they might... More
