Fantastic scenery

Lighthouses of all kinds are fascinating. This one has been well kept up and gave lots of historic info on it.

Love the view from here, lots of trails. We were here in July I couldn't believe the whales we seen. We went to Alaska on a cruise and I never seen as many whales there as I seen in this area. There are benches too. We had small children so we didn't venture too close to trails. It's nice to... More

This Canadian historic sight is well worth a visit. The scenery is breathtaking. The lighthouse staff take you back to a time before automation by bringing to life the daily routines of a light keeper, the science that supported the job and the light keepers place in society.

Stopped at the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse and Dungeon Prov. Park which is close by, on our recent Newfoundland trip. The Lighthouse was in great shape and historically great to see, but the area also had beautiful ocean views with a stunning jagged coastline. We also saw some of the few remaining icebergs of the season there.

There is a meandering drive out to this gem. Take note of the community pasture sign up and the cows grazing. There is much heritage in this town. And beauty.

a short drive on a good paved road, watch for the fox - puffins, whales, and good possibility of wind! Love all the flora, some one has taken the time to identify some of the varieties

I will never forget my wonderful visit to Bonavista! The lighthouse was wonderful with very special original lights in the tower. The guides there were so interesting and informative. There's a nice craft shop there too. But the scenery! Wonderful views in every direction! And thanks to our great hosts at the Puffin Landing B&B we returned at dusk to... More

A large area to walk around in and plenty to see. Unlike some lighthouses it is Red and White. Icebergs to be seen off shore.

We visited the lighthouse, but had previously visited numerous others so didn't go inside. It's worth the visit to go in the evening - park the car in the lighthouse grounds and watch the puffins come off the rocky island, circling, circling while they fish for the capelin. It truly is quite a sight to see. If you have a... More

Cape Bonavista Lighthouse is a must do if you are in Bonavista. The lighthouse itself is open for visitors to tour for a small entrance fee and the guides are very informative. There is a nice craft shop on the sight as well. The view is spectacular and when we were there there were hundreds of puffins to watch as... More
