I absolutely love this location. You can easily spend an afternoon here. We toured the lighthouse and learned about the history of the people living there. The staff were great and answered all our questions. The interpretation centre is also great with lots of images of the area from years ago. My favorite part of the visit was wondering around... We arrived at the Cape just before sunset and had time to walk the path to the lighthouse and appreciate that someone has labelled the plants growing beside the path. There are puffins on a small island to the right of the lighthouse. We climbed onto the rocks overlooking Bonavista Bay for our sunset viewing.

Staff that give the tours are extremely well informed about the history and details of the lighthouse. It's a very unique lighthouse. Views along the drive up were incredible. Tons of whale sightings in early August.

Very impressed with the tour of the lighthouse - very interesting. We took a long walk around the point and not only did we see great views, but we saw a pod of whales and puffins. The visitor centre (where you buy your tickets for the lighthouse tour - $15 for family pass), had some interesting facts about the area.... More

We spent a fair amount of time in this area to take in our first (very tiny) iceberg along with some whales and some spectacular views. We actually didn't go inside the lighthouse preferring to soak up all the natural beauty in this area. So don't just assume this is yet another lighthouse.

Great part of the whole peninsular experience. Well worth the drive out. The park ranger was very informative and shared his binoculars.
