Out of this world beautiful

Just so pretty and calm. You just walk and wander around looking out to sea. If it is the right time of year you can see icebergs floating by.

During our stay in Bonavista, we visited the lighthouse every morning & afternoon, to see the icebergs floating by. The views are fantastic and there was almost no traffic in mid May. I imagine the road and lighthouse parking area can become quite congested during the peak season. Because we were there in the shoulder season, the lighthouse was not... More

We had lunch here overlooking the water. Have seen many more lighthouses... with more picturesque locations, more history and animated wreck stories, that are being play acted by people representing the period.

The house of the lighthouse keeper is very interesting, and the site around the house is enchanting. We easily spent several hours exploring and even climbed the hill where hundreds of Inuksuk are. Gorgeous views.

Great location. The site was closed since we arrived during the off season. This place is cold and windy in December!! Would love to return during the summer and see the interior and may puffins.

It is busy and popular site which makes it hard to capture a great photo without a million people in a background BUT the views are so worth it. Don't miss this site, it's great and beautiful.

I grew up in a town just over from that and I still visit the lighthouse as much as possible when I go home to visit. I am on the shorter side but the stairs make me feel huge lol. Its interesting to see how people lived back then. Always a happy memory to revisit.

We went up to the cape later in the afternoon and it was foggy as it often is in Nfld. The views off the cliffs are a little intimidating at dusk but nevertheless extremely exciting. The whole area around the lighthouse is wild and untamed. Talk a drive down a ways and you will see wild horses and gorgeous views... More

We had a nice drive out to the lighthouse where John Cabot came ashore for the English crown. He was Italian. Somewhat desolate and rainy which created an wonderful atmosphere.

Don't miss it! Interesting history of the lighthouse, the area, and the lighthouse keepers before modernization.
