While traveling up the Acadian Peninsula we stopped in at the Distillerie Fils du Roy. What an absolutely amazing experience. We had a great personalized tour Of the distillery by Rosa and then she personally guided us through tastings of their beers (too many to remember but all very good) followed by their distilled spirits. Boy did we taste a lot of good spirits, and boy did we learn a lot about liquor. After an amazing 1-1/2 hours we finally departed with our new found appreciation of beer and distilled spirits, and also a few bottles of both. All of this was free, no charge and no expectations of purchasing any of their products. Other wineries, craft beer or distilleries charge for tastings. If we could give them a 10 we would give them an 11. This was the highlight of our three day staycation. A hidden gem in our province of New Brunswick!

Extremely nice place! Free products tasting; beers and liquors. Seriously it worth a detour. Liquor are very expensive for the most part so if you're not ready to spend 90$ for a Whiskey, don't go. They have some vodka and "Eau d'août" that are fairly cheap and the beer prices are also not so expensive. Free visit of the distillery as well, absolutely fantastic!

We made the visit proposed by the site and really we were super spoiled. We were lucky to have the owner who visited us he answered ALL questions with intelligence and kindness and he really knew his business. The staff is very friendly. They are generous for tasting and the products are original. Really recommend this place.

Quick visit to the site but a tasting that is worth the trip. Free admission. Friendly and welcoming staff. Wide variety of products, made locally, offered in store (honey, cheese, whiskey, gin, beer, vodka + the famous “August water”)

My wife and I are visiting my family in Nova Scotia, and we planned a trip to the Acadian Penninsula in New Brunswick for our 10th Annivesary.

Whilst researching and looking for wineries or craft breweries, we had Distillerie Fils du Roy on a list of maybe to-do's. We ended up booking a Spa/Hotel in Tracadie -Sheila, which is a lovely drive up the Acadian Coast.

There is just incredible scenery in this part of the maritimes, and we have not visited in the Fall Season before.

The Distillerie Fils du Roy is about 30 minutes north of Tracadie -Sheila.

Of Course the Hotel had some Distillerie information there and we read the phamplet about the craft made absinthe, vodka, rum, beer, etc

We decided to go!

It's easy to find using google maps, it's a non-descript white building with a small sign in the front.

Of course being end of October, there were no other tourists there. The only employee was the brewmaster, and he was more than happy to give us a tour.

He explained how all the equipment works, that this is their 4th year open, etc, etc

He was very informative even though he admitted his english is not that good. We did not have a problem understanding him.

Once the tour was finished, he asked if 12 noon was too eary for samples. We joked it must be 12 noon somewhere and that was our Happy Hour!

Started with 3 different beers, we couldn't believe they tasted so light and were 7 and 7.5%

Then moved on to the 2 vodkas, rum, gin, august water, brandy molasses (unfiltered rum) and absinthe!

Then they brewmaster explained how they will be making pop/soda soon as well.

We ended taking a few bottles home with us.

Well recommended for anyone willing to take the drive to Acadian New Brunswick.

I was in New Brunswick on business and found myself woth a little free time. This place is great, they speak both English and French, so don't worry about a language barrier. The tour is great and shows the important role this distillery is playing on the regional economy. As for the liquor, every one I tasted was my new favorite. If you're looking for a place with good spirits and great people, this is it. I can't wait to come back to NB on business.

This was a great experience. We received the full tour of the place, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. Best part is you are able to taste absolutely every product they make which extends from craft beer, liqueurs and a variety of liquor. They even recommended local restaurants and attractions which made our trip even more enjoyable.
