10 of us “flatlanders” recently completed a North Island 5 day trip led by Julian and Josh. The trip was fantastic, we saw sea lions, seals, eagles, orcas, humpbacks which we hoped (and expected) to see but we also saw a Minke whale and a sea otter, both of which we understand are not seen very often. North Island is... More

Our 6 day trip was absolutely more than I ever expected. Rob and Noah were both amazing and am so happy to recommend North Island Kayak Tours. We saw so much wildlife - Orcas, Humpbacks, Minke whales, eagles, salmon jumping out of the water, seals, sea lions playing, dolphins, porpoises and so much more. Our guides were well organized and... More

Bree and Paul were the most fantastic guides! They made our trip! The experience was absolutely incredible! We had Orcas visit us 3 times, once from the beach and twice from our Kayaks. We also saw (and heard the blowholes of) many humpback whales, one even breached! Plus lots of sea cucumber & other smaller sea life, eagles, sea lions... More

My boyfriend and I had great hopes for this overnight kayaking trip. We've been whale watching before and seen nothing every time. We arrived early on a Monday morning to meet our guide- Gerhardt and the rest of our kayaking group. There were 3 couples in our group, we all got on really well and had many laughs. We got... More

We were more than happy with our 4 day/3 night trip with NIK. I was blown away by the number of orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, seals, porpoises and dolphins we saw, as well as all the birds and the black bear on the beach. Our guides (Rob and Landon) were fun and knowledgeable, always paying attention to our needs and... More

Absolutely fantastic!! Five days of kayaking, four nights and countless humpbacks, porpoises, seals, sea lions, orcas and even a Minky, all in the most beautiful setting. The trip was made extra special by our terrific guides Josh and Julien; unbelievable kayaking, culinary, and people skills. Highly recommend NIK.

My group of three joined a total of 11 plus guides for an amazing three days. The area we covered was beautiful and the camps were great. I was impressed at how the camps give you the necessities but are still outdoor camps. Our guides Bree and Paul were excellent at reading the group and very knowledgeable of the area... More

Awesome trip. We paddled about 25 miles in the 3 days and saw Humpys and Orcas on two of the days. Very Very Cool. One pod came within 20 yards of our camp. The folks at NIK are really laid back but think of everything including a safe in the office to keep valuables. Brad our guide did a fantastic... More

Wow!! Where to start?? We no sooner left the cove and the wildlife started to appear. Over the course of five days we saw deer, seals, dolphins, porpoises, humpbacks, Minke whales, sea lions, racoons, bears, eagles and of course the Orca's. It seemed Josh and Julien, had them set up strategically so there was a new surprise every morning and... More
