    Great Family ski area
Skied Sun Peaks for the first time the weekend right before Xmas. Great area. Uncrowded slopes, no lift lines....even on the Xmas weekend. We stayed about 10K away and drove to the area each day. Parking was a snap less than 100m from the ticket office and lifts. Went XC skiing on Xmas day. Beautiful and very nicely groomed. Was a perfect spot for grandparents, kids and 18 mo old granddaughter. Had nice dinner at the Steakhouse at Sun Peaks Lodge. Great place to get away from the crowds and a fairly easy drive from Vancouver.

A great resort that could be so much better with more investment
As a ski resort it’s great. Great runs, although grooming could be improved as it seems the boarder areas get more time spent on them. We have visited the past three years and whilst it’s good the whole resort could do with some investment. All the hotels appear to be dated and could do with some refurbishment. The lift system again needs updating as by European standards are slow and dated. More restaurants needed but most that are there are of a good standard. You can tell much of it is owned by a single company.

Our First Visit but planning more
This friendly resort offered everything we sought. It was our first visit to Sun Peaks and we plan to return next ski season. This really is an intermediates paradise with Blue runs criss crossing the mountains, there are more serious and expert runs off of each chair lift which allow a crowd free ski day almost every day of the week. The usual Canadian friendly welcome rubs off on all visitors making chair rides great for meeting new people. A tour of the resort allows a day where every chair can be linked by runs to get from one end of the ski area to the other, we neglected to use the ski hosts but the size of the resort makes it great for exploring and finding your own way. The snow was typically Canadian soft and plentiful but the resort didn't live up to its name with low cloud and some days with very poor visibility, I'm going back just to see the views I missed!

Always dependable and lots of fun
Our 3rd year in a row coming to Sun Peaks for a week with our family, grandparents, parents and small grandkids. We spent years in the ski industry and the resort is lovely, efficient and very well run. For kids or beginners, the run choices allow for easy steps for safe improvement. Never feels crowded and even in a poor snow season in BC the skiing was great. Highly recmmended!

    2024 visit to Sun Peaks
I visited Sun Peaks from 21st January 2024 to 3rd February 2024. I should have been there on 20th January, but that was due to my connecting flight being cancelled. There were snow flurries throughout the first week, but it warmed up for the second week and there was a bit of a thaw. I have never seen the Heffley Creek flowing as usually it's buried under snow. Towards the end of the second week, the runs got a bit heavy and some looked very worn. This was my first visit since before the pandemic, Sun Peaks was just as Beautiful and as I remembered it. It also hasn't become too developed, despite the building work at the top end of town. I was sad to see that the Voyager Bistro had ceased trading and was empty when I tried to locate it. However, all the other restaurants were still there an were just as I remembered them. It will be interesting to return and see what the new lift on West Side Bowl is like. I like the fact that the RFID-style lift cards can be recharged on your next visit. Sadly I don't visit enough to justify a season pass!! I met lots of very friendly people and plan to return in 2025.

Sun Peaks is a great resort with great ski runs and plenty of eating options but the most outstanding attribute is their ‘ Sun Hosts’ who so happily and willingly show us the layout and features of the resort. Thank you Sun Hosts!

Tube Time! Is recommended for the whole family but unless your kids are say under 10/12 then don’t bother. One of the two tube shoots wasn’t graded and you had to get off and walk about 3/4 of the way. That left one operating and you had to wait until someone was clear of the bottom before you could go so that made for long waits. We paid for 2 hours and asked for a refund after our first run, which was duly declined! The staff agreed with me but couldn’t refund our tickets.

I’m sure little kids would love it and that is how it should be advertised.

About the only thing at Sun Peaks I wouldn’t recommend for anyone older than a pre-teen.
