Calm clear shallow waters make for a great time kayaking/canoeing/paddle boarding or swimming. Unlike most beaches in the area, this beach is sandy. Can get crowded on weekends and holidays. Parking lot is quite big though it is bit of a walk.

We enjoyed this campground so much we stayed 2 extra nights.
Sites are very much in the trees so we did not use our solar panels much! Sites nicely spaced out. Washroom and showers super clean.
Notice some reviews state they are upset that there are no individual firepits but that did not bother us at all.
Good value for money and plenty to do in the area.

By far the best beaches in the area. Day use area has lots of free parking, the beaches are sandy and at low tide you can go far out. Lots of sea planes to watch take off and land as near the terminal in Sechelt. Washrooms are usually clean and modern with some scattered out houses. One of my favourite parks. They also have a good group campsite close to the beach!

We love this beautiful park. Unfortunately since they removed parking fees it is a place that dog owners come to set their dogs free. Even though dogs are not permitted on the beach or picnic areas, and must be on a leash walking through the woods they never are. At times we have been threatened by large loose dogs, owners have no concern and take no responsibility. We are upset as this is a favorite place for us. Last Sunday during our picnic on the beach a dog came over and had a large poop next to us. Gross, the owner didn't even apologize. We are really sick of it and the dog owners ruin something otherwise beautiful.

Wife and I wanted to go to the sunchine coast on a short camping trip. We chose Porpoise Bay provincial park. Park is on the ocean. nice beach, a couple of walking trails. there is play ground for kids.
They have flush toilet and hot showers. Washroom were ralatively clean and well maintained.
The sites are big and very well maintianed and clean. here is not fire pit in the endividial sites there are a few communial fir pit. but there is currently a fire ban. I asked ranger if i could use a propane fit pit he said yes.
The only reason I am not giving this park an excellent rating is because at about 7am every morning the float planes seemed to take off at that time on the ocean very close to the park. Go figure . If is quite during at night. but during the day there are a few float planes taking off. they are noisy if you are tring to sleep in.
I would stay at this park again. it is nice.

Was looking for a place with a nice beach, trees and lots of picnic tables and this place had them all. Lots of families but was not crowded and only a few minutes away from downtown Sechelt.

This is a great campsite, sites are roomy and very clean. We stayed here for 2 nights. Bring water shoes for the beach and for the showers. You have to press the shower 5-7 times before it gets warm enough to get in. Make sure you put stuff on the bench outside your stall otherwise your stuff will get wet. I wouldn't drink the water, bring your own to be on the safe side. We stayed on lot #4 which had nice evening sun.

There is a lovely beach trail to walk your dog and a salmon spawning river to observe in the fall. The campsite is amazing. We used to family camp there every summer. It is still so popular it is a good idea to reserve.

Very nice Provincial park. Good sized camping areas with good shade and privacy- mainly flat. Water scattered around. No Sani dump.
The showers were very dirty, mens and women's with no where to put shampoo etc except on a dirty floor.
On our first night, a group of men were shouting loudly for a couple of hours until very late. Second night peaceful.

Campground is amazing, sites offer generous, fairly private settings. Group fire rings to bring people together and you can reach the playground, picnic area and beach in minutes.

Parking is a 2-vehicle maximum per camp site, but what about a trailer/camper? Does a trailer count as a 3rd vehicle?

How is the vehicle noise at the campsites that back onto Sechelt Inlet Rd? Is it loud?
There are communal fire rings and the site says you cant have fire at individual campsites. Does this restriction apply to propane fire pits?

Yes you can have propane fire pits, with a small flame, I believe under a six inch flame.

Most of the sites are flat and quite large- if you are from BC then these are typical BC Park sites. When you call to reserve, you can request flat and large, they will tell you this information AND if you want close to washrooms, communal fire pit, playground or beach. Highly recommend reservations, especially if camping on a weekend in June, July or August.
