There was a delay in our pick up time but to no fault of them. It was just a long wait on the dock in the wee hours and cold and we had unfortunate weather while we did our tour .... VERY FOGGED in and tough to see much. However, Steven, Mike and Mayumi were so wonderful. Their knowledge of the area and their heritage was nothing short of amazing. Once we got to the grizzly area Steven took us out on the Zodiac and brought us in close to shore to see our first Grizzly. The fog cleared for us to see that area. Since we had a delay in the morning I think they all did their very best to take us to different areas to try to find more grizzlies or whales and they did! We saw a beautiful grizzly at the end of the day. We FINALLY got quite a whale show at the end of the day when the fog was super thick again. We could hear them all around us but was thought to see the humpbacks because of the fog we didn't get many photos of them. but then Steven and Mike told us to look ahead of us and HOLY the killer whales were everywhere! It was quite the site and sounds even through the thick fog as you will see in the photos. But well worth! So even thought we hit some snags and were in the thick of COVID they all did a great job of making us feel welcome safe and to give us a history lesson I will never forget. I can't wait to go back and do the tour again perhaps in the summer when the weather cooperates !Thanks to all 3 of you for such a memorable day with our friends.

We had a great day on the ocean with this tour! Steven and Sherry were awesome guides and were full of information. The boat was comfortable and there were lots of snacks. We saw 5 bears as well as humpback whales and seals. Lunch was tasty and we were very happy with this tour. The landscape itself was beautiful, the wildlife was amazing. Definitely recommend!

Best day of our lives. We were expertly guided by Steven, Sherry and Thomas aboard the Mayumi. Once we got to the grizzly bear territory we transferred to a zodiac to get "up close and personal" with the grizzlies, yet still maintaining a safe, respectful distance. Sherry and Steven have an expert eye in spotting wildlife. We saw grizzlies digging in sedge grass, a black bear flipping rocks along the shore, dozens of Stellar Sea Lions roaring on the rocks, humpback whales frolicking in the water and hundreds of dolphins diving in and out of the water all around the boat. We gained a greater appreciation of the heritage and culture of the West Coast Indigenous peoples. The boat is extremely comfortable, with front and rear deck viewing, Kudos to Julie at Cluxewe Waterfront Bistro for the delicious breakfast (overnight oats and blueberries), lunch and snacks. Awesome coffee! Thanks to the team for an amazing, unforgettable experience. Everyone needs to do this.

The highlights were: - seeing a large male Grizzly - humpback whales feeding in the riptide - Dall's porpoise playing / zipping around at the bow of the boat. - learning about the history of a now abandoned village site with very deep midden We also went to the U'mista Cultural Centre on the Namgis lands, west of Alert Bay. Excellent expression of the culture of the different nations of the Kwakwaka'wakw people and the ancient and recent history. incredible mask returned from museums. We didn't have the camera equipment to get photos of the wildlife and decided to use our eyes and the images are deep in our memories.
