First, good luck finding this place! These seems to be done on a wilderness conservation site. The trails are not well maintained and was often impassably muddy but really cool. Neat trinkets, signs and art. Someone(s?) put lots of effort into this enchanting little spot. You don't have to go far in to see cool stuff. Take 15 minutes. We did about 1.5 hrs in this spot before moving on to another trail.

Spent a gorgeous summer morning exploring the Wacky Woods in Fanny bay. The woods have several entrances and I'm not sure if we ever did find the official one. The trails meander and branch, with many hand carved totems, ad hoc set up little areas like a camp or a cash register, random mirrors have been embedded in trees, and there are carved wooden fish hanging from chains EVERYWHERE.

The other frequently encountered item are carved wooden 'books' that you open for some sage advice or wisdom. The Wacky Woods are VERY political and have some things to say about religion too.

The property has been sold and there is no signage but if you are lucky like we were you will get a final glimpse of this wonderfully quirky and innovative collection of Outsider Art. It is probably at its most wonderful as the forest absorbs and embraces the pieces...

This property recently changed hands and the woods are are no longer available for viewing . A sad loss to the community.

I was brought here by friends who had been coming here for years. An artist who had lived nearby has created some wonderful sculptures throughout the woods as well as some artistic political messages and religious scrawling. Some of the pieces are wonderful, some are not my cup of tea...but, if you’re in the area, it’s certainly worth coming to look at. Even if you don’t like the artwork, at the end of the day, it’s still a really nice walk in the woods!

Not really sure what to think of this place or how to review. If you're a Marxist who gets off on political and religious nonsense then you'll really enjoy this place

This is a gem. The artist took years to adorn the woods with many novelty items, created and found. Definitely has a Marxist Feel to some of the writings. It will be sad if the land gets developed. It is on private land and the owner is generous and kind to share the passion of the Wacky Woods.

This is a trail near my home, and part of it has interesting displays and written word on wooden books stuck in trees or hanging hence the title "Wacky Woods". George Sawchuck was the creator but has since passed away, however there is a group that maintains his legacy. It is worth a trip to seek out this area and to continue on the trail for views and different treed areas. You can go to one end to Tozer Road or on another leg that takes you to Ships Point Road.

A little hard to find, but fun. The art installations are getting run down but the idea that George brought to life is still prevalent. Bring boots if in the rainy season as it was muddy with puddles. It's a nice short walk in the woods with whimsical findings in trees and among the marshy areas. There is also a boundary trail one can take that isn't necessarily part of Wacky Woods.
