About
Our Visitors Center, the "Grain Elevator," located at exit 348 of Interstate 94, has bushels of information, maps, brochures, and a gift shop. It is open year-round, so stop in and talk to our Visitor Center Travel Ambassadors. We provide free wifi and coffee for visitors...And the bathrooms are spick-and-span! The Fargo-Moorhead Visitors Center is also home to the woodchipper from the movie 'FARGO.' Stop by and have your photo taken with the infamous woodchipper! We provide the (fake) leg to complete the photo op. Be sure to see the Celebrity Walk of Fame outside our visitors center with star signatures and hand & foot prints in cement.

Great for Info or a Break
This stop worked out well for us twice -- one on the way to Bismarck and the other when we returned. While I wouldn't stop here just to see the infamous woodchipper it was fun to observe. They have all the brochures you need for the surrounding area. Also postcards which can be hard to find these days and they will even put their stamp on them and mail for you! The staff was so pleasant. We always ask these locals what some of their favorite restaurants are and if we hear the same one a couple of times, that is where we try to eat. Lots of parking, also good for just taking a break if you are passing through.

Fun place with a lot of information
So what you're stopping in here for is to see some movie memorialbilia and the wood chipper from the movie Fargo. We drove up on a Sunday morning and thought it was closed as no other cars were there. When I tried the door it was open and we were greeted by two lovely young ladies who were so helpful! One was especially so. She took our picture with the famous (infamous?) wood chipper and she also suggested several brochures and places to visit. All in all, a very nice experience. There is also a wood chipper in a park in the parking lot, but the one from the movie is inside.

    Small but nice
Nice little visitor center. Very friendly staff. They have the famous wood chipper inside from the movie Fargo. Make sure you see the movie before you go. There’s a nice little walk of fame outside with many celebrities, hand prints, including Jethro Tull and Pat Boone. We spent about 15 minutes here. Not much else to see except brochures.
Thanks for stopping by our visitors center and for taking the time to write a review! We're glad you enjoyed the stop and found our staff friendly and helpful. Come visit us again sometime!

    Highly recommend.
Audra who was working there at the time of my visit was so helpful, friendly and informative. Learned so much about the area from her. Unique place to visit, with a gift shop and exhibits relating to the movie, Fargo. On display is the actual garden shredder from the movie with a human foot sticking out! Another cool thing is you can select and write a post card and they will send it for free. Outside is a Walk of Fame featuring some of the rich and famous who have visited the city. Well worth a visit, and just off I-94 so easy access. PS the kids on my school bus loved the coloring books and crayons you kindly gave me, kept them entertained the entire journey home!

Average trip. We arrived at approximately 9:30 am and made our way around the building. There were several things one could see outside, including a puzzle painted Buffalo, the Fargo walk of fame, and the wood chipper replica. Inside, the visitor center was very tiny and consisted of the actual wood chipper, some artifacts from the movie, as well as some brochure’s and maps of the surrounding area. There was also a restroom inside.

Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

We had our 11 year old son’s birthday party there and the kids had a blast. They dedicated two workers to be with our group, show them how to throw and made sure they were safe. I HIGHLY recommend this place for any type of event or just a place to go with friends or family!

The Fargo Moorhead Visitors center is great place to visit. They are knowledgeable about everything from hotels, restaurants, events happening, and where everything is in the area. Helpful and friendly. I was able to get lanyards for free for our class reunion. Nice unique building styled like a grain elevator.

This is a great location for a picnic. They have many different places to chose to eat. Then head inside to get your picture with the wood chipper, get maps, information, water and restrooms. They have lots of cool photos and items from the movie Fargo to look at. Definitely worth a stop.

We were on a multi-city trip and Fargo was our hotel spot for the night. We checked into our hotel and were eager to see The "walk of fame" was fun. They had some fun 90s handprints. We went around 7pm (and during the pandemic) so we did not get to go inside. But it was a great photo spot. We did a photo with the North Dakota sign, a very colorful bison (or is it a buffalo.. we googled the difference and I can't remember). There is also a nice little pavillion so you could bring your own picnic lunch. Large parking lot.

This Visitor's Center is absolutely excellent. It provides helpful information about North Dakota, and Fargo-Moorhead specifically, but also represents the bison, and history that makes the area famous. The stones in the walkway commemorate famous visitors to Fargo.

This was a great experience!! The people inside were very friendly and helpful.

The wood chipper from the movie Fargo was there - which was our reason for stopping. However, there was much more once we arrived. The staff offered help with things to do and see and there are maps, etc.

The gift shop had postcards and they even mailed some for us. It was very clean and nice inside.

Outside is an artistic bison statue and the walk of fame. Lots of famous people have visited Fargo and it was fun to see their hand and boot/ foot prints.

The visitor center is right off the interstate and easy to get to. Don’t go to Fargo without stopping.
