This is the second time I've rented a Hobie Wave sailboat to go out in the sound. The first time I rented I had to demonstrate that I knew how to sail before taking it out on my own. Now they have my record on file. The staff, (especially Matty and Pheobe) is so friendly and easy going. Everything about the boat was in excellent condition. I'm already scheduling my next sail and can't wait!

My wife and I took a 2 hour twilight sail with Captain Cameron and First Mate Maddy departing from the docks at the Blockade Runner Hotel in Wrightsville Beach. The cruise was very enjoyable and our hosts were friendly and interesting. The weather was perfect and seas calm. We sailed along Banks Channel to the Masonboro Inlet and out the Inlet into the ocean as part of our trip. We were under sail for 90 percent of our trip. Met some interesting and ambitious young people and enjoyed talking with them and hearing about their plans and goals. A very enjoyable evening and our second trip with Wrightsville Performance Sailing at Wrightsville Beach. Highly Recommended

I just finished (and passed!!) the ASA 101 sailing class. We sailed on a different boats and spent most of our time on the water, instead of in the classroom. Captain Camryn was the best. He is very knowledgeable and is an excellent teacher. If you have an interest in sailing I would highly recommend this class.

I spent 2 days in sailing school with Cameryn as the instructor. Very informative and very effective. It was a great 2 days and a great way to learn how to sail. I'd recommend for anyone interested in learning how to sail

Amazing experience taking the ASA 101 class and going out for more practice. Captain Matty even let us have extra time practicing on the J22 on our own weeks later to keep our skills up at no charge. We’ve sailed with Captain Camryn and Captain Matt and both were excellent—professional, safe, courteous, and friendly to both us and our kids when they joined us. They were knowledgeable and taught us how to really sail—including launching and docking under sail. Overall, they provide a perfect experience. We’ll be back to take the ASA 103 after some more practice and this is the only company I’d go with.

I was very overwhelmed by this trip. My husband and I with my daughter took this water shuttle trip for the purpose of spreading my sisters ashes as she loved NC beaches. Jay the captain was so compassionate and help us accomplished this. He took us to a perfect area inlet that was beautiful and allowed us to have a little ceremony. It was fantastic and so beautiful. The water and scenery was breathtaking and Jay was so knowledgeable about the area. I would recommend this to everyone and thank you so much for full filling my sisters dreams. We were very pleased and she is resting now here at the shore.

We had a fabulous sail on Allana! Captain Cam and First Mate Amanda were professional, courteous and knowledgeable! We have been on several sailing excursions before both US and abroad, but this was truly exceptional. The wind was perfect for our Friday evening cruise, and since all five of us were comfortable with going a little faster, they let out Allana's jib sail! It was obvious both crew members loved this boat and sailing in general. We learned a lot about the logistics of sailing as well as the local aquatic/marsh environment. I highly recommend this trip for couples and families. Our teen daughter loved it and got tons of Instagram-worthy pics. Don't forget to bring your favorite beverages & snacks for the ride. Then sit back, relax, and feel the wind in your hair!!

My husband and I have taken both ASA 103 and 104 from Captain Matty and very much loved both experiences. Matty has a great amount of personal sailing and captain experience which combines with his naturally calm, confident, and patient teaching style to create a fun and effective learning environment. His classes have a great balance among instructional, study, and hands-on time and have given us the confidence and experience needed to continue to learn this wonderful and complex sport. Also of note, the school's location in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area has a lot to offer for sightseeing, restaurants, etc. In the future we hope to hire Matty or one of his staff to help us sail a future purchased boat to a new location.

We had a fantastic adventure today! We sailed in the Intercostal, saw dolphins, pelicans, and even made our way through some big waves in the ocean. This was so beautiful. Capt. Matty asked what WE wanted to do and see, kept us safe, and we learned lots of good sailing tips, too. Good for the whole family. 100% Recommended!

I rode the hobie wave with Mimi, who taught me so much about sailing and made it so fun! I felt very safe the whole time and never stopped smiling. We didn't go super fast or anything but it still felt exciting. Highly recommend!
