Posted hours on website and on doors indicated it would open at 10:00 am. We were there on Friday at 10 am. Place not open. Waited until 10:15 am. No one ever showed up, never opened. No notice on door or any information to indicate a change or reason.
If it's that inefficient in keeping hours of operation, it makes me wonder if it's worth the effort to visit. Won't try again. To many good racing museums around to waste my time on this one.

Worth A Stop - But May Not be worth the Price
Oct 2019
This is a small museum with a fairly high entrance fee given the size, but for racing NASCAR fans, you get to be up close and personal with quite a few famous cars. The museum is set up well, with story boards about famous cars and drivers of an earlier generation of drivers (the last Winston Cup ran in 2003). Most of the hoods are locked down so you don't get to see all the engines and I understand that some cars don't have the engines still installed. That took away some of the interest for me, but I enjoyed to museum and would recommend to out of town visitors staying in the downtown area.

Fun activity with cool exhibits.

My wife and i went here recently and both enjoyed it. Has lot's NASCAR style race cars to see up close, which is interesting and educational if it's something you have an interest in. Knowing that guys are blasting around an oval track at close to 200mph in these vehicles makes you appreciate the skill of the driver and danger of the sport.

There's also lot's of pics and history at the museum to peruse and read about. A fun time. :)

Racing and VROOOM !!

Whether you are from the south or north, take a few hours and visit this iconic museum discussing NASCAR and its rich history with RJR, there sponsor for over thirty years. There are cars to look at and places for the kids to have a birthday party. The older crowd would really appreciate this place as racing in the old days was a high paced. Now these days, its made for TV. There is so much rich history with the evolution of the sport and the good old boys network. Check it out if you are in the area.

Great Winston Cup History

This place has a lot of great history. It gives you history of the cup in NASCAR. I sure do miss the Winston Cup being apart of NASCAR.

Great place for Racing Fans!

We took our 4 year old grandson to this museum. Although they had an event the night before they permitted us to walk through, take our time and play free racing games! On our way out our grandson received a special Matchbox car to remember our visit! We felt this organization really knows hospitality!!!

Birthday party is a great thing here!
Sep 2017
I went to the Winston Cup Museum to a birthday party. It was a great place for a party. the kids enjoyed the games themed like a race car track. the place has replica's of the famous know cars. The space was open and had a sitting are for the parents. Not only do I recommend this place for bday parties but for normal day outing with the kids. Especially the ones that love race cars.

On our visit to Winston, being a big NASCAR fan I was really looking forward to visiting the museum. Yes it might be on the small side, but I truly enjoyed it! Glad we stopped!
