We have been twice in the past two years and have enjoyed it. The Museum has some really nice things to see and does a wonderful job of explaining the rise of Winston Salem and the house. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and they often have special event things to see also, such as artwork, etc. The museum... More

If you are near the Wake campus this is something different to do. It was one the home of the Reynolds family the large tobacco manufacturer. The house has many pieces of art which belonged to the family it also next to Reynolda gardens which has many dining options. They have many other exhibits that travel through the museum at... More

This museum is an historical house,-- that contains a small inventive, representational collection of priceless American works, with a rotating schedule of important, imported exhibits -- surrounded by a beautiful garden in a suburban/urban setting. Easy to spend a morning, an afternoon or make it a full day by lunching in the adjacent Reynolda Village. Doing all this is an... More

The exhibit was excellent; it encompassed a wide array of artist with works from private and public owners. A great story was shown through the varying time period pieces. The title of the exhibit "The Artist's Garden: American Impressionism & the Garden Movement 1887-1920" and the actual exhibit was much more exciting than I imagined it would be.

The attraction is kind of a "threefer:" beautiful grounds and gardens, an art museum and a mansion. The American Impressionist show just closed, and the house/musuem will be temporarily shuttered during January and February. The mansion does have kind of a 1920's feel to it...it's actually fairly intimate for a very large house, not particularly showy. The house itself has... More

When spending the day on the Reynolda Estate a visitor has a lot to do, and seems you were able to incorporate all of these things in to your recent visit. You visited during a time when we had one of our most popular exhibition, The Artist’s Garden: American Impressionism and the Garden Movement, 1887-1920, as well as the second... More

We first visited the art museum which had an American impressionist exhibit that was top notch! Then we toured the mansion, which had the feel of an American Downton Abbey. Last we toured the shops and gardens. This property is a great place to visit.

This place is the reason we chose to spend New Years in Winston-Salem. The American Art exhibit is well organized with many famous and beautiful paintings. The best part is touring R.J. Reynolds former home via audio tour.

The estate of the Reynolds tobacco family is quite interesting to see and that is coupled with a wonderful exhibit of Impressionist art. The art changes periodically, and it seems that an Ansel Adams exhibit will be there later this spring. I'll need to make another visit then!

This estate is fascinating. The furnishings and artwork are gorgeous. The view from the second floor down to the first floor is wonderful. The Christmas decorations were so attractive. Art Gallery is well worth the admission, they have changing exhibits.. House is a nice tour to see how it looked in the early 1900's. Went in early winter so garden were not in bloom. It was decorated for Christmas nice to see that. Plan time to visit the shops in the village near house. Restaurants also located in village.

We’re happy to know you found the price of admission was well worth your experience. The house is decorated from late November through December, and our staff and docents do an excellent job welcoming visitors and sharing the stories of a 1917 Reynolda Christmas. Check our website for special holiday events offered throughout the Estate. More
