I've been out there 3 times looking at items for sale by the highway...but I've never seen anyone there...And the sign always says CLOSED. (Maybe open weekends only?)

We loved talking to George and learning so much about one of our favorite TV shows, The Andy Griffith Show. It was like going back in time to our childhood times when things were simpler and better in many ways. He entertained us with his adventures relating to the show, very personable, fascinating and informative, a real nice gentleman. We also had fun wandering in the old barn. What a great place! Just be sure to go on a Saturday or Sunday or they won't be open. Keep a goid thought!

Several buildings to wander through. The first one is set up like an old gas station, the same as Wally's in The Andy Griffith Show. Most of the items in this building are related to the show. It is a step back in time. The other buildings have just about anything and everything you are looking for (and some things you didn't know you wanted until you saw them!). Plenty of gas items and advertising, along with fixtures, glassware, paper and all other things.

Neat place with multiple buildings filled with antiques. Lots of big old signs for sale. Plenty to see and buy in one location, so worth the stop. The owner seems real nice, but he will also let you browse if you aren't in a talking mood when you visit. Right off 264 and near 95 if you are passing by Wilson.

When you walk into Wally's Filling Station you feel like you've stepped into Mayberry USA. It's part museum, part antique store. We had so much fun walking through this small place. They even have some fixtures from Mt. Airy, NC on display. You have to take the time to talk to the owner and feel his passion for Andy Griffith and Mayberry.

After you walk through the station you walk over to a large warehouse full of antiques. It was a little dark and a little dirty but there were treasures hidden everywhere. Take your time because you won't see everything if you just glance around.

Leaving the warehouse you walk back to an old house with mostly furniture. We had just had a bunch of rain and there was a strong musty smell inside so we didn't spend too much time there.

Even if you don't like dark, dirty warehouses packed full or musty smelling houses, it's worth the stop just to see the filling station and talk with the owner.
