A pleasure to visit Wilmington and the Waterfront in early June 2022. We enjoyed walking the historic downtown, taking a riverboat tour and having lunch just a block off the water.

Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of construction going on - good for Wilmington, keeping up the infrastructure - but this closed parts of the boardwalk and sidewalks which impacted our experience.

We only had a few hours to visit, but glad we did. Hope to plan a return visit in the future.

I am visiting friends and I needed a post card so I wenbt downtown to the tourist area. It was bustling. Several of the places I remember had disappeared because of the pandemic, but some were still there. I found some very quaint and interesting shops as I walked. There was also a street closed down and many local art and craft vendors were selling their wares. That was great tool. The 2 restaurants I remembered, both fast food, one Italian, one Mexican were gone. :-( But overall it is a wonderful area to spend an afternoon!!

I'd recommend taking a walk down the river and also doing one of the downtown trolley tours to learn more about the history of the area. There are lots of good places to eat, grab a drink, and shop downtown. There are a few parking garages and street parking.

Our recent visit was marred by construction in so many places. Many of the prettier, historic areas have scaffolding and chain link fences. I assume the construction is to improve the city, but for now, it's a bit of an eyesore in a city I have historically loved.

I love taking my kids to walk downtown. It's a great way to get them out of the house and get exercise. There is always something going on and good eats. Our favorite days include a trip to The Children's Museum and lunch at Front Street Brewery.

Wilmington is trying hard to revive its downtown, and it shows. You'll find a lot of construction and visible attempts to restore some attractive Art Deco building to their original state. Taking a walk you will find everything from some worthy restaurants to panhandlers to a hose-drawn carriage ride to bars and art galleries. TheRiverwalk along the Cape Fear River is the best feature. It's built of weathered wood, with good river views; there are several restaurants with views.

We're local in Wilmington and for the last several years we have been watching and enjoying the addition of restaurants, shops, and areas to walk around downtown. Well get ready for the big changes, as more hotels, condos, and buildings are going up, especially on the north side of downtown. At some point the whole waterfront along the Cape Fear River will be open, and hopefully walkable.

Mix southern hospitality with coney island and this is what you get. There is so so so much to see and do, it is impossible to do it all in one day. The sights are stunning, especially at sunset! The kids and I like taking a stroll here on the weekends for the music and people.

Downtown as a great atmosphere about it. It’s a great place if you are wanting to bring the family for a bite to eat and some shopping 🛍. On the other hand there are some great place to grab a drink 🥃. You will have to pay for parking if Its in Sunday I think it’s free. If you come downtown you must go to the peppered cupcake and wake’ n bake donuts 🍩. Also if you like one tree hill the table where Nathan and Haley sat is on the river walk in downtown.

Spent the day touring the Battleship. An amazing visit. Hard to imagine how living on the Battleship during the war would be. Reading their memories was my favourite part. Spent the balance of the day touring around Historic downtown Wilmington. Eat a wonderful lunch at the Roster and Crow pub.
