Old Downtown area is perfect for walking and stopping in the shops and restaurants, as well as seeing the historic sights in the downtown area. Also don't forget to walk along the riverfront, very nice.

Be sure to enjoy some ice-cream as you stroll around downtown. There is a free trolley but we couldn't figure out the schedule. Boat rides were $12 per person for 50 minutes.

We were lucky to park at on e end of the shopping district, and we walked most of the way down front street. Lots of shops and restaurants to see and stop in.

During the daytime, we enjoyed walking up and down North Front Street from Market Street north. Our car was parked in a lot on Market Street immediately east of Front Street; the car was directly on street level, not in a parking garage. We parked...More

Downtown Wilmington has some interesting building and old homes. It also has a large number of restaurants. The shopping is fair - definitely not high end. The river walk is very nice and will be great when it is all completed.

We spend the majority of our full day (we did a quick weekend trip) in Wilmington walking around the downtown area. I am confident that, no matter your interests, you can find somewhere fun to wander into around here.

This downtown is the ideal size for a couple days' visit. There are a dozen restaurants from cheap and cheerful to white-linen. There is a massive and (!) well-organized used book store, as well as a lovely new book store. Other local shops for trinkets...More

Take a trolly or a horse and carriage ride of this history filled city. Amazing restaurants and shopping experience at the Cotton Mill. Don't forget to drive slowly past the beautifully maintained Victorian homes

I've only been to Wilmington twice, but have kind of fallen in love with the place. It's very cultural and people are very friendly. I lived in Charlotte for about six years, and within the past year have temporarily relocated to SC. Charlotte is a...More

I recommend using the parking garage on Market Street, which will be your best bet cost wise. Parking on the street is not as bad as the kiosk parking lots, which are very pricey. If there is an event going on down on the... More
