Absolutely beautiful place. Such a peaceful way to spend some time. We probably spent the most time at the bottle chapel. The longer you look at it the more things you notice from the different angles.

Lovely day in the garden
Oct 2021
We enjoyed visiting Airlie Gardens while in Wilmington. The weather was great, but there was enough shade to get out of the sun, clean paths, lots of photo opportunities, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful and relaxing

Beautiful and relaxing any time of the year. The gardens are beautiful and areas are clearly marked. There is a chapel on site and a replica of the original house. Paths are easily marked and the map provided at checkin is easy to follow.

Beautiful, Peaceful place to spend an afternoon
Sep 2021 • Couples
This is a beautiful garden and plenty of different sub gardens with special features. We spent two hours walking around and could have stayed longer. There is a butterfly house, we never got to and lots of places to rest by water features. A great place to go for a walk or just a lazy day.

Beautiful park
Aug 2021
This is one of my favorite activities in Wilmington. It's such a gorgeous park with wildlife, trees, and flowers from the area as well as some cool art pieces. Not as excited for kids, but really pretty and relaxing space.

Beautiful park
Jul 2021
I visited North Carolina for a week, and this place was on my list of places to go. It's a very pretty park, with very old oak trees (Airlie Oak is from 1545!), beautiful flower gardens and more. You must buy tickets online before arrival! General admission was $9, and it's slightly less for kids and members.

Within the gardens are plenty of birds, butterflies (there's a seasonal butterfly house), turtles and fish. There's sculptures and fountains throughout the gardens.
A tram makes stops throughout the park, but every time it passed us, it was full. I didn't mind, but my relatives aren't in great shape.

The day we visited, it was bright sunshine and 98 degrees. I'm from NH, and don't mind the humidity, but keep the weather in mind when planning a trip to Airlie garden. Be sure to use sunscreen and bug spray, wear good shoes, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Nature lover’s must visit
Jul 2021 • Couples
A beautiful well kept garden with plenty of paths to follow and benches along the way to stop and enjoy the views. A wonderful variety of flowers, shrubs and trees, ponds and fantastic views of the Cape Fear River, even a small walkout pier. A nice walk even in the heat of July. Friendly staff and nice little gift shop.

Very pretty gardens!

Airlie Gardens is a nice way to spend a part of your day in Wilmington and it is also a popular spot for engagements and weddings. The tulips were blooming and the Azaleas were starting to peek through which made for a beautiful walk in the garden.

A lovely way to spend the day
Jun 2021
We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our walk. It began to pour and. a lovely volunteer offered us a ride in the tram. His spirit embodied the vibe of the place. Highly recommend. Don't feed the turles and respect the signs. I would suggest that the git shop starts selling umbrellas, they would have made a fortune the day we were there!
