I recommend the guided tour. It makes the tour more personalized. I enjoyed learning much about Wilmington's residents and thier culture. Things sure were different in 1860. Touring this home enlightens us about how many conviences we have today.

Visiting this historic mansion is like stepping into the past....seeing first hand the beautiful carvings, the tall columns, the amazingly beautiful fireplaces...be able to go to the look out windows on the very top and seeing the views once witness by the settlers.....the Cape Fear...More

Walked from the Front Street area. Lovey pre civil war home. Tour was rich in architectural details & local history. Took about an hour, but was very interesting. Learn about pre & post civil war history. Building techniques, foods and customs. Go visit!

I absolutely love the architecture of the house, inside and out! I recently started volunteering there and every volunteer is dedicated to preserving the history of the Bellamy mansion and its residents. It does require a lot of walking and stairs, but they offer a...More

I was the only person on a guided tour, which felt a little strange, but loved it. This house still has the original slave quarters on the property. I love that Wilmington cares enough to preserve their historical houses.

It was a very informative tour, got a really good feel for "Urban" antebellum life. There are a LOT of stairs so wear very comfortable shoes and pray for cloud cover, luckily we had temps in the low 70s (In January, no less). Summer temps...More

The Bellamy Mansion should be on everyone's must-see list when in Wilmington. The house itself is gorgeous, and the history behind it is fascinating! The tour began with a very interesting film in the visitor's center. The film told about the history of the Bellamy...More

I remember in the 90s I helped my x girl friend on a archaeological dig around the grounds.Found some cool stuff and the place looks a whole lot better since then. This place is a great educational site on Wilmington's local history.

Our guide, Leslie, made this wonderful historic house come alive for us. The way she described the lives of the people who lived there made you feel like a part of the family. You could almost hear the footsteps of the children who lived there...More

I don't remember what the cost of a senior ticket is. You're asking a senior who can't remember. I do remember that the house is not air conditioned. It is worth being warm just to see it and hear about the family that lived... More

I believe you can purchase the tickets at the mansion on the day of your tour. But the downtown hotels and other venues always seem to be offering discount tickets, so you can beat the at the door price if you shop a round a... More
