Hello. I'd like to discuss the review with you a little further if possible? On our hour-long guided tours there is a very large volume of information, there is no area of the house closed off, and the basement/kitchen level is fully furnished. Except for...More

So much history here! It's also an architectural amazement for that time. Tours are wonderful. Gardens are lovely and staff are very informative and pleasant.

The pictures truly don't do this place much justice. I was already in Wilmington for the weekend when I decided to call my mom and have her bring my nieces and nephews to meet me and my kiddos so we could take a grand tour....More

After reading all the great reviews, my family and I were really excited to tour this site on our visit from Minnesota. Man were we disappointed. First of all, as soon as we walked up, there was a hand-written sign that said they were closed...More

Hello. I'm the Director of the site and I'm perturbed to read that review. It actually sounds like another site entirely so we're also a little perplexed. We have not been closed for a private tour in recent memory and the only rooms without furniture...More

This house was very interesting to tour. I really enjoyed the opportunity to see the slave quarters as it gave a good perspective as to the living conditions they had to endure. The house itself was beautiful. Incredible architecture and full of fantastic information.

I don't remember what the cost of a senior ticket is. You're asking a senior who can't remember. I do remember that the house is not air conditioned. It is worth being warm just to see it and hear about the family that lived... More
