Shop and take in the History that is all over downtown Wilmington During the day. Virtually any type of food is available in the area. At night dance, drink, or find a quite romantic spot to hang out.

Walking around Wilmington is delightful. The homes may be neoclassic, Victorian, and are very beautiful. They are a reminder of the wealth that was once in this city. The brick streets are lined with beautiful trees, some oaks with Spanish moss dripping. Wilmington does not change much from year to year, and this is satisfying.

There are lots of things to do in downtown Wilmington. Great to exercise, relax, eat lunch, walk the dog or shop; There really is something for everyone downtown. And the History is thick. There are signs posted all around the Historic District telling of the past histories of the area. Very nice.

We went to the museum of the bizarre and it was worth the $3, we had fun. We walked around just to enjoy the cool rain mist. There are so many shops and many food choices. The architect features of the homes are great to see and the old factory builds also.

We took a guided tour which lasted about an hour but it really brought out the charm of Wilmington. Downtown Wilmington is really charming with many shops and restaurants to enjoy.

We were amazed by the low cost, compared to other cities, for public parking and the many sites and activities. We particularly liked the horse drawn tours and the tours of the 3 historic homes.
