Was hoping for a more memorable historic district. This was large but underwhelming. Not a lot of properties that produced a wow reaction.

Historic District of Wilmington is a must stop if you love history. You will learn things about Wilmington you did not know. Always a good thing to leave an area know you know something more about it.

Many privately owned homes are beautifully kept in the historic district. Most of the public areas have been updated and house trendy shops, salons, businesses, restaurants, pubs and tattoo parlors.

We were easily able to find street parking, and took some time walk the streets. Lots of shops and restaurants, and many old historic building. Pleasant relaxing way to spend some time.

Great place to visit for history lovers, foodies, shoppers, families. I ate in excellent restaurants including sushi, French and local cuisine. Finding metered street parking or parking in a street-level lot right on Market Street was not an issue on weekdays in April. There were...More

Many interesting sights and great architecture. Also wonderful shops and restaurants! Very pet friendly area and also a nice river walk. We cruised the older residential historic homes also. Fountains and statues to see also.

The downtown area has restored, attractive buildings occupied by good restuarants, shops and businesses. The river walk includes interesting historical markers and is a pleasant stroll. It is touristy as well. We enjoyed some fine restuarants downtown.

Enjoy walking through the Historic District reading plaques outside of preserved homes. I was told that walking up the homes steps was acceptable; understandably going onto porches is inappropriate.

Our carriage ride started at 11 am and lasted 30 minutes. You ride around a few of the blocks in the downtown district. It's not very far. Apparently there are different routes. Our driver said we got tour number 3, not... More

We did not book carriage ride or meals in advance, but don't about the summer months. Park at the parking garage. Think there is only one public parking garage in the historic district.

I think it is about $15 per person - no reservations needed- just wait in line.
