What an awesome rafting trip! This was our first rafting trip for this family of 5 and it was a 10 out of 10. We called the day of our trip and they were all booked up but 30 mins later we got a call saying someone canceled and we got a raft with a guide waiting for us. Our guide James was the best he knew how to navigate the river with ease. James is so informative and interactive. We can’t wait to go again. If you're a first-timer I highly recommend a fully guided raft tour. When we were finished an ice pop and freshly made popcorn was waiting for us.

Our experience was amazing! My husband, kids age 10 and 14 and large dog, took a rafting trip with guide Nyah. She was calm and knowledgeable with a wonderful personality!!
Our trip with Nyah was the highlight of our trip. I highly recommend her if you have anyone with high anxiety

We booked a guided rafting trip for our group of roughly 20+ people. We booked through the phone which was a very simple process. The staff was extremely friendly, kind, and accommodating to our large group. Their facilities were also nice and clean. Another plus was that they take you to a drop-off site so you end your trip where you parked your car. They handled our large group with ease and it was definitely a highlight of our trip! We had a lot of fun rafting down the beautiful Tuckasegee River. Our kids also had a wonderful time stopping at this mini-beach where they could jump off a rock into the river. Their guided trip is great for beginners and we’d definitely recommend rafting with this company!

The service at Smoky Mountain was awesome. We went in thinking we wanted a raft but he said we would have more fun on individual kayaks…I’m glad we made the change. I loved that they held on to our car keys so we didn’t risk loosing them in the River. I also loved that they had a variety of complementary sunscreen for us to use because I didn’t pack any. Once we had our life jackets and paddles we loaded on a van and they drove us up the River and dropped us off. The ride was more relaxing then intense… the scenery was beautiful…we saw a turtle and a hawk. The trees and homes along the River were beautiful. The float took 1 1/2-2 hours. When we got out they took our kayaks, life jackets and paddles and gave us popsicles and popcorn. The rapids were not too big at all… small children would be just fine. Great relaxing family activity.

We had the greatest afternoon on the tuckaseegee with this company. When we called to ask questions ahead of time, the person who answered the phone was courteous and helpful.

We travelled in two boats (four and four) with a total of five adults and three kids (4.5, 4.5, 6.5). The checkin process was quick and painless. There were restrooms, changing rooms, and gear for purchase available. This company transports you to the drop in site, so you end your trip at the building where you park.

Our guides, Emily, Tony and Chubb the dog, we’re awesome. They provided clear and concise instructions and then got us on our way. The trip consisted of class 1 and 2 rapids, which was perfect for our family. The guides were knowledgeable and personable. They made it a fun experience for the adults and the kids. We took a quick break at the jumping rock, where again, the guides took the time to explain a safe way to experience something new. The kids loved it!

The trip took about 2 hours, and ended back at the parking area. We were greeted with smiles, popsicles and popcorn. We were able to rinse off and use the changing rooms to change into dry clothes.

We will definitely use this company again the next time we are in town.

Very friendly staff and super inviting. I've been rafting numerous times but my young kids have not and this was a great starter river to teach boat mechanics. I would highly recommend this company and river for an introduction to white water rafting to young kids.

Such a fun canoeing experience! We took two double duckies (1A/1C and 1A/2C) and really enjoyed the trip on our own time. Just enough rapids to make it fun, shallow depth kept us feeling safe. Wonderful staff, great changing areas and easy in and out to the River/vehicles. Would love to do this again!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Smokey Mountain Adventures. I took my kids there for the first time when they were very small, now they are grown and have become good paddlers but we will still go to Smokey Mountain Outfitters and hit the Tuck on the way to the Nantahala or Ocoee. The staff is friendly and helpful. The equipment is first rate. The location is right on the river and take out is easy. The facilities are clean and spacious. The river itself is easy enough that you take take younger kids but still fun for adults. There is a nice but moderately sized jump rock. This is the perfect place to introduce kids to whitewater or take adults that want a more mild whitewater experience. Both guided and unguided trips are available. I have only done the unguided trip, but I have seen the guided tours on the river and they seem very professional. If you want, pictures are generally available for purchase through a third party. It is a great way to spend a half day. I only wish they offered a longer option. Definitely, try the Pina Colada freeze pop when you finish.

This was our First rapids adventure. It was amazing. Lots of #1 & #2 rapids. The 2 of us in our mid sixties went with our guide Ryan. Ryan was amazing, courteous, knowledgeable, happy young man. He took very good care of us. We were a little afraid.
The river and surroundings were beautiful. We picked this place prior to our 3 hour dive up to the mtns. I looked at a few reviews of 3-4 rafting businesses. This place had the best reviews. Most importantly when I called to make reservations the owner was VERY nice, explained all I needed to know at that time. When we got there, even better. ALL the people there, especially the staff were very nice and helpful. Cant wait to do it again.. Have fun.....

We had a great little trip. The staff was super friendly and offered plenty of tips. They hooked us up in a raft instead of two duckies because we had two dogs and they were concerned we would tip. It was just enough small rapids to make us hungry for more!
