Great experience for our whole family (4 adults and 2 kids ages 4 & 6). Owner was super nice and knowledgeable! Would recommend young kids sit in bottom of boat when navigating rapids to avoid being tossed about (or out like our 6 year old). But stress was alleviated because we all were properly equipped with life jackets and prior instructions on what to do if you got stuck or found yourself outside the boat! Kids loved it! Pace of ride totally up riders. Beautiful views the whole way.

We really enjoyed our rafting trip down the Tuckasegee. I would recommend Tuckasegee Outfitters to anyone in the area that wants to raft or kayak down a fun river. Our 6 yr old really enjoyed jumping from the 12 ft rock into the river!

Did a reservation for a 2 person ducky. That's definitely the way to go. River is very beautiful runs a long a railroad and there's a few rapids to get the heart ticking along with others that were fun! Place is nice changing room and picnic site right on the river even a shower. The river was rejuvenating enough I felt super fresh after taking a plunge. Shoot I even came back after a bike ride in Cherokee to take a quick dip before heading back to the hampton. Staff was super friendly made us feel at home. Answered all our questions about the area. Took us about 2 hours to float back to bridge. Gave us a lot of time to do other things. Lots of stuff close by outdoor stuff.

Hubby and I rented individual kayaks and floated the 2.5 miles down river from where these guys drop you in. The staff were all super friendly, gave some good advice, had a good map of things to look for along the way...we had a great experience with the people and on the river. They were also one of the only ones running late in the month of August, when the rest of the world was getting back to school et al. Glad we found them and highly recommend.

I called just few minutes ago and whoever answered my phone call was very rude and unprofessional... Did not answer my questions and hanged up on me. I called back and politely told him "Excuse me I think we were disconnected" and he he said: WHAT DO YOU WANT?. At that point I really did not want to give him my money, my time or any future referrals. I can't believe the way this company treat his customers.
Sad...sad...sad!!

Our trip down the river was wonderful! We have young children who are not heavy enough for most white-water experiences in North Carolina. This was a perfect way for them to enjoy a few rapids without worry. Most of the trip is just floating, but there are enough rough sections of the river to make the trip exciting. The price was reasonable and location was convenient and easy to find. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely ride on Labor Day 2021! The river was up, and the weather was beautiful! The folks at Tuckaseegee Outfitters are lovely and so friendly. What a great way to spend the holiday afternoon!

We had a great time kayaking along the Tuckasegee! Staff were really great and I appreciated the owner’s accommodation to take our family to the drop off point privately to minimize exposure to others outside our family. I do wish the staff were either wearing masks (especially inside or in the vans) or spacing people apart when reviewing safety precautions for COVID, but overall, thankful to have a fun afternoon outside with my family!

This was a perfect introduction to some rapids that roll and turn down the river.
The children were thrilled and we felt safe with enough excitement.

My wife and I, and another couple, enjoyed a relaxing, and sometimes thrilling, ride down the Tuckaseegee River one afternoon. The boats (two-person inflated kayaks) served us well. It would be interesting to try the single kayaks, but my wife prefers to have me in the boat to help prevent any catastrophes. We had no problem navigating the class one and two rapids. I am not a river person, but have been in canoes and kayaks from time to time. If you ask more questions at the brief orientation session, I'm sure they'll be happy to provide more tips. The four of us were loaded into a van with our kayaks in tow and dropped off into the river a few miles upstream. The journey down took a couple hours. If you stop and enjoy the small beaches and swimming spots along the way, the journey could be longer. I only wish I had applied sunscreen to my legs. Good trip, and the takeout is right at your car and the main office, which also includes changing rooms to change into dry clothes for your departure. Good time.
