Historic and well preserved Vance birthplace is an educational and scenic part of NC history. Only 5 minutes off the BRP or from Weaverville on Reems Creek. There is plenty of parking and no fee for self-guided or tours of the Vance house.

The homestead has a house and several historic buildings. There are several interesting exhibits that show how life was in Vance's lifetime. It would be a great place for children to visit.

Vance Birthplace isn't what you'd call an exciting tourist attraction to spend the day but it is a neat little spot to visit and spend 30 min or so before you move on to the next thing. Even when there is no event going on...More

We visited the Vance birthplace while on a driving excursion of the area. We learned much about Civil War Governor Zeb Vance, and enjoyed exploring the various outbuildings on the Vance pioneer farmstead.

We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville to visit the Vance Birthplace, never having been there before. The museum/visitor's center had artifacts from the family and brief write-ups to familiarize visitors with the life and times of Gov. Zeb Vance. There are about half...More
