Captain Mark and first mate Dunkin are an outstanding fishing team. Todays trip was a great day! Very rough but both the captain and mate made sure everyone was safe, Dillon took care of the guys that weren’t feeling well! Had a mix of yellow fin, black fin Mahi and a blue Marlin! Brenda was awesome dealing with booking the trip. We had people together who never met and we all took home fish.

We chartered a four-hour near-shore trip during our Thanksgiving vacation and loved every minute of it! Our group of four included three adults and one child (ten years old).

The boat was spacious (includes a living room and bathroom!), the fishing great, and the Captain and his mate were on top of their fishing game. It paid off and we were lucky enough to catch about sixty pounds of False Albacore which we took home and promptly cooked and ate. Delicious!

We'll certainly charter the Fishin' Fannatic when we return to Nags Head in the Spring!

Captain Mark was awesome, and his mate was the best I've seen in some time. He took us out and we sladed the Tuna all morning. Great trip and we will book him again soon.

We booked a deep sea fishing trip. The day before (Aug 7) I get this text.

Good afternoon, this is Capt Mark from Fishin Fannatic. I have an engine that’s not performing right. I cannot take you on the tilefish trip that you booked w us. We are able to fish in a nearshore capacity only because of lack of speed, if you are okay with modifying your trip to a nearshore we will be happy to take you.If not we can try to find another boat for you or give you a refund.

We find another trip so we chose a refund. On the August 17 I ask where the refund was.

The refund has been processed from our end. Depending on your cv bank, it can take anywhere from 3-15 business days.

After several other corespondents it was finally settled on the 8th of this month (November) after I disputed the charges on my credit card.

We did an all day charter with these guys and didn't catch a single fish on any pole the entire day. The only fish caught were small skip tuna on a trot line type system attached to a wench on the boat. You can think of it as the houses rod. You press a button and it reels in the fish in probably the most unexciting way to catch fish, ever. At the start of our morning, which we left the dock at 5am, Brandon (especially) and the captain seemed kinda in a mood and I was hoping it wasn't a bad omen for out trip. Turns out it was.

Between the cabin of the boat with broken air conditioning, a semi functioning toilet, all day chain-smoking Brandon, and the diesel fumes pumping into the cabin from outside it's no wonder a couple kids with us got barfy. I'd you do deep sea plan on spending about 3 hrs of your fishing day driving to and from where to fish in the boat. We also got cut off an hour early so 4 hrs of our day was pretty nill.

When it comes to outdoor comfort, the fishing platform of the boat is also quite small and With 6 people and a first mate crammed in the space it was pretty tight. There weren't any places to sit out there either and you just had to figure out a spot and make it work without getting wet. If you didn't like it you were confined to the musty, hot cabin. That was one of our primary complaints. Another was that they used the same bait the entire day when it was clear nothing was going to bite it. You would think that there would be some creativity there with bait but not so much.

At the end of the day we got back and hour early and they laid out our wee catch. 3 more fish were added to it and were later confirmed to be from a trip the day before by the guy cleaning "our" fish. He ended up tossing them, this was after the fish were weighed and we paid for cleaning the old fish that were thrown out.

All in all we were disappointed in the whole thing. I feel bad I had my brother drive 9 hrs down from wv the day before just to sit thru it and catch nothing.

Capt Mark is fannatic about catching fish but don't expect to hold a rod and reel in a fish. Using the green stick method only the mate reels in and gaffs fish. Initially there were teaser rods out to attract billfish but later even those were removed essentially eliminating the opportunity to reel in any fish.

The boat smells of diesel no matter where you are or on deck or in the salon. There was no AC in the salon so the heat in there was unbearable.

This was a fantastic charter! Capt Mark and Brandon were awesome. They worked hard to help us catch Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi, mako shark, sandbar shark, and a hammerhead. We also caught a limit of tilefish. The boat was comfortable, the gear was well maintained, and the crew knew where to find fish. Captain Mark actively looked for fish and moved spots to make sure we were in the best locations. At the end of the fishing day it would have been easy for him to head back with the fish we had; but he let us stay out until we caught our limit of tile fish. Leading up to the charter, the scheduling and logistics were very professional and well done. They went out of their way to make sure we had all the information we needed and helped us find a day that worked for our family. Communication and emails were very timely and accurate. We’ve been on charters on many different boats and locations and this was one of the best all around experiences. Highly recommend this boat and crew!

Wonderful day on the water. The captain was knowledgeable and made sure we caught fish. The 1st mate Brandon was friendly and kept all the lines baited. I highly recommend this charter.

To start with the captain was rude and misleading about the type of fishing we were going to do we were told the toilet didn’t work there was no running water and we were not to use it. The trip was booked as a Sportfishing trip using rod and reel I even brought my own Rod and reel to use not a single fish was caught on rod and reel everything was caught using a green stick which employees a pushbutton electric winch to pull every single fish in the boat The captain did find fish and put them on the boat but there was no sport involved and it wasn’t the type of fishing we had expected the mate was very good and friendly the captain was not The interior of the boat was far from clean we were supposed to go out fishing again the next day but decided we’d had enough and went out with a different Boat and had a wonderful trip

In response to this review - I know the customer is supposed to always be right however, there is a ton of misconception to this review. To start with, one of your quests (female), upon boarding the boat, decided she need to make breakfast for everyone, when turning on the sink, she did not get any water. She was informed that the pump did not stay on at all times, due to the fact that most people do not realize that a boat does not have unlimited fresh water and if the pump was on full time, that guest would use unlimited water and by mid trip, the toilets would not work - our toilet on the boat works perfectly, until someone puts paper towels down it. Once again, this is a boat and all things regarding water and paper are to be used sparingly. We never did mislead regarding the trip. Most all of our charters want to catch fish, and depending upon the day and how the fish are biting determines the way that we fish. As far as brining your own rod, that rod was out most of the day, and to my point, they were not biting the baits being trolled that day. The interior of our boat is cleaned daily and yes, it is a charter boat, and the carpets do take a beating by things being spilled, etc. I am sorry you had such a miserable trip, but as 99% or our reviews state, we do take pride in catching our customers fish and having a great day. We are glad you were able to find another boat that met your needs.

Great trip- it was our 10th wedding anniversary and given all the travel limitations with Covid we decided to go deep sea fishing. We caught 8 big tuna and had a lot of fun on the water, especially with Captain Mark’s special reel that makes bringing them in so easy! His first mate was a great help and he and his wife were great helping us figure out how to get them home.
