My girlfriends and I love to visit wineries. They are great things to do rather than go to a bar. You can get a lesson on wine making as sample, enjoy and purchase.
The staff at Woodmill Winery was knowledgeable and not pushy.
My husband and I visited this winery today around noon. The grounds were very nice. The winery had a spacious porch and covered area for enjoying a glass of wine. The young lady ( maybe owner’s daughter) was very friendly. We did a tasting and...More
Gorgeous views surround the winery, creating a sense of peace and calm. Not only do the vineyards cover the front of the grounds, but they extend far behind the winery as well, with picnic tables and a quaint, little pond.
Everything about the tasting room...More
You can pay to do a tasting and keep the glass, or they will let you do a tasting in a plastic cup for free doing the same tasting. Their wines are on the sweet side. The blackberry wine was excellent. Prices per bottle are...More
It was a rainy, dreary day when we visited but the location looked very nice. The 2 ladies who were doing the tastings were friendly. It's mainly muscadine based. We purchased the Muscadine Vinaigrette, very tasty!
Our grandson and his fiancée married at the Winery and the staff did a wonderful job decorating, being sure that the dance floor had plenty of chairs and tables around and very quickly and inconspicuously changed the wedding gazebo into a dance floor. It is...More
Woodmill is a 20 min drive for us so it's one of the local vineyards we like to visit. Last time we went they were preparing for a wedding and we felt rushed and in the way so next time we may call ahead to...More
Larry Cagle & his family are the best! Have been here several times. I have been a judge for the Grape Stomp. Such a fun event held in August. They have great wines and make a sangria that's fabulous. The wine tastings are fun. If...More

I'm not affiliated with Woodmill Winery, however, I have been there. I really don't believe that there is any lodging close by unless there are B&Bs I'm not aware of. There are a couple of hotels in Lincolnton which is about 30 minutes away from the winery. Also, there are quite a few hotels in Hickory, which is about the same distance away. Hickory is more convenient to I-40. Lincolnton is centrally located between I-40 and I-85. There are a lot more restaurants in Hickory. Woodmill WInery is absolutely beautiful and their wines are first-rate. You won't be disappointed. The Winery is out in the middle of nowhere, so make sure you have GPS to find it. Have fun! I may be there as well!
