The best vineyard winery in NC. #Blue #Ridge #Mountain #Winery #Tasting #Lodging #Restaurant
Sep 2021 • Couples
My husband and I were passing through North Carolina visiting friends. When we travel we look forward to finding hidden gems. #RoaringRiverVineyards is EXACTLY that! In the NC mountains not far off the #BlueRidgeMountainTrail. Is this beautifully landscaped, peaceful, tranquil, escape from reality!

If you are looking for a #Romantic #Getaway. If you are looking for a Special #Anniversary #Surprise this is the place! You could hold your bridal shower here! You could hold your #WeddingVenue here! Or use this as your #Honeymoon #Escape #Retreat!

When you open the door to your #GuestRoom you will feel like you are entering a French country side #cottage. The guest rooms are beautifully designed and decorated! The kitchen in each room has all the appliances necessary to prepare your favorite foods. Just make sure you bring all the ingredients. You are at least 30 minutes from the closest grocery store. A friendly note here: while the cottages do come with a coffee pot filters and coffee mugs. If you are some who needs breakfast when you wake up first thing. The resort restaurant is not open for breakfast so make sure you pack some breakfast food.

The balcony over looking the rapidly flowing waters of the adjacent river is the perfect place to sit relax and enjoy nature! There is a common gathering building where all guests can congregate and larger parties can celebrate being together.

My wife and I challenge everyone traveling with in 50 miles of this fabulous hidden gem of a #resort. To take the time to travel to #Roaring #River #Vineyards say hi to owners Tom and Josephine and see the beautiful creation of their hard work and talent.

One last thing, I forgot to mention the #wines! Yes, many award winners! from a sweet La Peche, a semi sweet Traminette, a semi dry Viognier, a French Chablis style Chardonnay, to #RedWines a Norton red, a Cabernet Sauvignon, and our favorite the #Yadkin #Valley Rock n Roll #red #Wine.
This wine will definitely quench your passion for life!

Finally the on site restaurant #Chez #Josephine is currently serving their lunch menu from 11:00 am till 5 pm. The meals we had were exquisitely prepared, presented and delicious!

#Bon appétit!

Owner Needs Hospitality Training
May 2021 • Friends
Visited Roaring River today...beautiful day enjoying beer flights on the porch. We hadn't seen posting on website or at winery that outside food was not allowed, so we were munching cheese and crackers we brought with us. Owner approached our table and asked how we were enjoying the food. We laughed...thought he was joking around...but just a few minutes later waitress was putting "No outside food allowed" sign on post right by our table. How rude, offensive and unwelcoming. We bought more beer and appetizer but will not likely return. Owner apparently hasn't learned how to appreciate clientele...make them feel welcome and give them the desire to return. Great scenery but no warmth from owner. Waitresses, however, were great! Post your agenda at entrance!

Excellent

Excellent food. I had the Reuben. Several choices from appetizers to desserts on the menu. I am not a drinker so it was nice to have a choice of other beverages. I got water that was very cold and very good (from a deep well). Location is way out in the country but worth the 30 minute drive from elkin. Surroundings were beautiful.
Located above a small river. Service very good and checked up on us quite frequently.
I would come again.

Wonderful lunch and vineyards
Nov 2020
Our first visit but will not be the last! A beautiful setting beside the Roaring River. The day was warm enough to sit on the covered patio beside the river. We had a wine tasting along with our lunch. The burger and panini were delicious. Enjoyed the white wines more than the reds. A delightful afternoon.

Stole my money and refuse to respond to my emails with proof that they charged me incorrectly
Oct 2020 • Couples
Josephine shipped my wine without my consent. She made changes to my contract without me present or without my consent. I never recieved my shipment because she sent it to the wrong address. Then she said I gave the wrong address on my contract. Upon receiving the contract after she refused to give it to me several times I saw that she wrote in her own changes to try to cover herself voiding out our contract and also that my address was correctly written. I was upset with them and told them I would not be purchasing anything else from them and she charged me a cancellation fee. I have already been charged all four quarters and sent proof of this. I sent her all 4 bank statements where they already charged me and asked why I was charged cancellation. She did not respond and that was almost a month ago now. October 9. I sent a follow up email and no response. These people stole money from me and I am currently in a month long dispute with my bank trying to get the charges back. Do NOT provide these people your card information. They will steal your money and stop responding. Josephine has been so rude and has terrible customer service. Even worse she knows she is stealing my money and won’t refund it or even respond.

Awesome place!
Oct 2020
We spent four days here while hiking and loved everything about if, the wine, staff, food, and ambiance. Everything was decorated with detail and love with so much to take in including the window views. It is family owned/operated and they treated us like part of their family. The wines were the best we had in the area (the peach tasted like I was bitting into a peach), they also had a good beer selection. The staff has a good knowledge of the beverages and their descriptions were spot on. The menu has a nice selection and was always delivered with a smile. We would recommend stopping without any reservation, we're glad we did!

Fun and relaxing
Oct 2020
We had a wonderful relaxing time. We were seated on the deck overlooking the river, very beautiful. We ordered the wine sampler along with the beer sampler. We also ordered the meat and cheese platter to go with it. Everything was excellent. The staff was attentive and answered all of our questions, but they didn't hover over us and didn't rush us. The owner chatted with us for a minute, seemed very friendly. We also decided to order lunch. I had the Roaring River Burger, she had a Panini, both very good. Overall the experience was excellent, I look forward to going back there.

Much needed getaway to a beautiful place
Sep 2020 • Couples
We are so grateful to Josephine and her husband for a much needed getaway at this beautiful place. The wine tasting and restaurant were delightful along with their staff. We enjoyed a bottle of their 2015 Chambourcin with dinner and their Chardonnay with lunch was wonderful too. The grounds and views are so beautiful . Our overnight stay hear was wonderful in every way, sparkling clean room with all the amenities you could possibly need and such gracious hosts that made us feel like family. Listening to the water flowing from our deck was so relaxing and healing . We will always remember this special time and hope to return again.
