This is a good way to do something besides sitting on the beach or playing in the water - oh wait that is why you're here! Anyway, on a rainy day or just for something different this museum is well worth the time.

Our family has been to the island 6 times for one week vacations and this was our first visit to the museum. You will love seeing artifacts, pictures, displays, a visual media presentation and more. No admission fee - just make a donation. Knowledgeable greeter made the visit extra special. If you love Topsail, this is a must see!

Short off season hours, air conditioned and a place to sit and watch a few UNC TV info movies about Topsail Island, Woman airplane pilots in WWII and Bumblebee bunkers. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Military and island history, largest seashell collection. Worth the trip, could stay for an hour or 2. Can walk across the street to the beach and 2 towers.

ON our family vacation we went to visit the Missiles and more museum. My husband, being a veteran, was eager to go. I loved it. We were greeted by a friendly docent who talked to us about the island and what happened here years ago. There were several videos you could watch (next time I will designate more time for this place). There was a display about women in the military - I didnt realize that female pilots during WWII didnt get pensions or benefits. Also great display on pirates. But the shells were fascinating. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. There was no cost...a shock to me. It was a wonderful place to visit.

Take down the no firearms sign and I may spend money there. Other than that it could be a nice place.
