We toured the McRitchie Winery as part of the our Yadkin Valley Wine Tour and unfortunately, this was one of our least favorite wines. However, the owner was extremely gracious, kind, warm, and inviting. The location was beautiful so if you can find a wine you love, there is plenty of room to enjoy your time there. The owner’s dogs... More

I discovered this nice place from a story about them on North Carolina Weekend on UNC Television. We have been there 3 times and always enjoy tasting their wine and cider. My wife enjoyed it so much she joined their case club. It is always nice to receive their shipment of their very fine wines.

McRitchie is quite small, but the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They have several tables, some on the lawn and some on porch and patio that are available for picnicking. Very nice, pretty location to do a tasting ($7), buy a bottle and enjoy a quiet picnic.

Long drive out there. We made a special trip as they listed a Barrel fermented Chardonnay and that is my wife's favorite but that is only for "Wine Club" members. So we tried the wines us lowly "non-members" were allowed to try. There decent, nothing to write home about. My wife did like the Cider and we bought a couple... More

Although the wines are good and certainly worth trying, if you have to decide between tasting wine or cider then I would pick cider. The selection of cider is nice and crisp and unique. I recommend getting a growler to share with friends while enjoying the fresh mountain air.

We stopped in at McRitchie Winery and Ciderworks on a recent Sunday afternoon on the way home from a weekend camping trip. The tasting room is cozy. Friendly staff shared a few samples to focus our attention. We did not do a full tasting; rather, we chose a cider and a rose and took a seat out on the porch.... More

We stopped in this winery while on vacation in the Yadkin Valley area. The wine tasting bar was small but was absolutely beautiful. It was made of tree - natural tree lines. In the open areas in the wood it was filled with turquois...just beautiful. The woman pouring the tastings was very sweet and knowledgeable. The wines were very good.... More

I came here with guests we were entertaining at our cabin nearby. I had emailed a few months prior as groups of more than 6 need to reserve. They got back to me in quick form and even though they don't give tours, they accommodated our request and gave us a behind the scenes of their facility. The tasting was... More

This is a wonderfully talented wine vintner who started out in CA and then worked with Shelton Vineyards for a while. We are wine club members and have the wines shipped when we are in FL for the winter, we went there 1st time since last fall for a tasting and bought 3, our favorite is still Ring of Fire... More
