This is a decent layout that has 3 9's. It is up against some very tough competition with other area courses that are top notch tracks. This one is still good though and is reasonably priced. It will challenge you and offer you the chance to pull out the driver as well as play it safe. The course was in very good condition on the day I played it. The greens were a little slower than what I was used to back home but the putts still rolled true. The staff was courteous. You won't go wrong making a drive here to play at least once.

Our foursome enjoyed a great round of golf fairways and greens were in great shape check in went smooth but what made the outing perfect was our visit to the clubhouse after the round bartender working I believe his name was Phil was outstanding we went in to have one beer wound up staying two hours

We play Sandpiper every year (for at least the last 15 years) during our annual Kings Point golf week. It has some interesting holes and is a fair course. Pro shop is good and rates reasonable. There are a few 'gators in the ponds. Several years ago there was a big 'gator (at least 12 footer) sunning itself on the peninsula in front of the clubhouse which made an interesting picture.

Played golf at Sandpiper Bay 2/21 (Sands and Piper courses). This golf course is in the worst shape of any course in the entire area. It is a joke to charge full prices for this muddy mess. The fairways have no grass; just mud, augmented by numerous tractor tracks. They are painted so they look green. The greens likewise are pretty devoid of grass, but are rolled and painted so they look and act sort of like greens. I play golf 3 times a week at various grand strand courses, and will never return to this one. They excused the condition by saying they had a lot of rain, but didn't bother to apologize.. So did every other nearby course, and they are all playable. Bottom line is they didn;t plant any winter grass, and the course is now unplayable. They owe us an apology for taking our money.

Total rip-off. Made tee time on 10/11/19 for a 10/18/19 date of play. Pro shop attendant refused to take the coupon when only written restriction was that tee times had to be made in advance. We were told they didn't want to be in the program and that to use the coupon you must make a time no sooner than 48 hours in advance. They offered us a chance to play for $60 per person, needless to say we refused. Have played numerous courses in the area and never had a problem. If they have their own set of restrictions they should be made clear at the time of booking. Apparently they have enough regular membership traffic where they don't give a hoot about guests. Very disappointed especially after over an hour drive to get there.

Been coming to this area for many years and this golf course was in the worst condition we have ever experienced. With so many courses in the area I would strongly recommend avoiding this course. The greens are in terrible condition, no grass, basically mud. The fairways are shocking and the tee boxes no better. Apparently it's due to the fact the winter was so cold. Fair enough but the other courses we played didn't have the same problem so what do they do differently? It is going to take a long time for this course to recover so avoid it if you can.

Worst Golf Conditions in my 35 years of playing. Played with a my Group. Sandpiper Dragons. Absolutely NO GRASS in the Fairways. Wet Painted Mud. 75% of the Greens were Horrible.
OVERSEED SPEND MONEY. DO NOT BLAME IT ON HARSH WINTER. I play other courses that are Fine and in good shape.
We played a scramble (THANK GOD OR I WOULDVE LEFT) so we just tried to hit in the dormant rough to hit off of fluff. NEVER WILL PLAY THERE

Interesting to see the post about unfriendly cart guy. I agree except I got a double whammy with an unfriendly pro shop guy and cart guy. To make matters worse I was with my son who they werent at all welcoming too. Went to the Pearl down the road for the rest of the week and was treated exceptionally well, especially my son! Great course but the staff ruined the moment. I will certainly tell all of my Northern Virginia friends and family that play down there regularly to go elsewhere!

very playable course. The bay 9 has lots of water and is the most challenging of the 3 9's. Lady friendly.

We had a hiccup with our on line booking being made for a different day. No problem! Even with a tournament on one of the courses, the staff were kind and encouraging. I was looking for a drinks cart but the course kept me fully entertained. Can’t wait to play again.
