Awesome experience - we’ll for sure be back!

We had the most experience working with Emma. We called on a whim to see if we could rent two bikes for the following day, and she made the process so easy. We had an absolute blast on the bikes, and Emma gave us a ton of great tips for how to explore the town. I would highly recommend this company and we will most definitely be back. Thank you so much for making our first trip to Southport an unforgettable one, Emma!

Rice’s Creek Saturday Morning Paddle

Took a paddle trip on Rices Creek Saturday with Brian. Wonderful time on the water. Brian’s pre trip class was great and his instructions made the trip so much more enjoyable. Came to discover Brian and my wife were at some point years ago co employees at the Department of Navy in Crystal City Va. Will be planning more trips for the family here for sure.

A great kayaking experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 tours with Emma, so much so we bought our own kayaks.
Emma is knowledgeable and passionate about nature and provided a great learning experience for first-time kayakers.
We invited a couple of neighbors for our second adventure and they also thoroughly enjoyed it.
I most highly recommend Adventure Kayak Company of Southport NC.

Awesome kayak trip

This was a wonderful guided kayak trip. There were 11, of us and 2 guides. You could have individual or tandem kayaks. We Kayaked in quiet water to an island and walked up a hill to look around. Very good tour guides Took about 2 hours. Highly recommend

Do a trip on a black water creek

Rice or Townsend creek offer hours of quiet paddling past beautiful old cypress trees. Shady, cool, quiet, safe. I highly recommend a trip and the adventure Company will take good care of you.

Great kayaking!
We took a morning kayak ride with a large group. Had three great guides and a wonderful experience. Very easy going and relaxed vibe. Took the dutchmans creek tour through a salt marsh. We are novice kayakers and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Adventure Kayak Company owner Emma and her knowledgeable staff steered us to the perfect first kayak tour for my husband and me (we are 60-something – no kayaking experience). Our black water river kayak tour was over 2 hours long. Our guides Scott and Brian gave a beginners’ lesson before we pushed out to enjoy a leisurely paddle along Rice Creek. I liken it to enjoying a botanical garden via kayak. Thanks to the TLC of everyone at the Adventure Kayak Company. We are hooked and will be recreational kayakers for life – and repeat customers.

Fun for everyone

This is a great activity for a family or adults. The staff is great. We had a wonderful morning kayaking a salt marsh behind Oak Island. The kayaks are in excellent condition. Even beginners can do it. The guides gave directions to those who hadn't kayaked before and watched to be sure everyone was doing OK while we were on the water. Had a nice walk on the beach around the middle of the morning, so there was a chance to stretch your legs plus do some sightseeing. We kayak a couple of times a year, so not novices but not expert, either. We all are ready to go again.

Paddling Southport NC

Whether you live in the area, are visiting the area, or have visited in the past - don't miss out on a fantastic experience with this Southport 'Gem'. If you have your own kayak you can use it, and if you don't, you can rent one for cheap. I have done both. Today a group of us paddled Rice Creek. There was so much to see and extremely enjoyable I can't begin to explain all of the sights and sounds. Take my word for it, you will smile from the time your paddled enters the water till the kayaks are loaded back on the truck...and if Bob is your guide be sure to inquire about the history of the creek, and area. Bob makes everything more fun and enjoyable. I look forward to another adventure very soon! Thanks y'all.

What fun!!

This was such a worth while outing! We let John and Lee lead us down the Rice River and had a wonderful 2+ hours of serenity. The kayaks are a breeze to maneuver even if you have never done it before and with our guides short tutorial before the start of the trip, there was no hesitation or fear whatsoever. We loved the scenery most but learning some of the the history of the area thanks to John was a plus. We will be doing this again as soon as we are back down to Oak Island. A real treat of a trip and well worth every penny! Do it!
