Amazing day sailing with Captain Jim! He provided a fun experience for our first time sailing. He was so knowledgeable about the area, provided a good variety of cold drinks and even let us help with sailing the vessel! A must do in Southport!

What a wonderful and informative afternoon with Captain Jim and his 1st mate, John! Jim offered interesting tidbits on area history, wildlife, and the coastline. Highly recommend!

We LOVE sailing with Captain Jim and Barb! They are fabulous hosts and always make certain we are safe, happy and having a great time! The sailboat is lovely and very clean. They provide beverages, laughs and we even get to help with some of the sailing "chores" if we want to. It's one of the best ways to entertain friends and family when they visit from out of town. We will continue to sail with them as long as we can!

I recently went on this tour with my wife; I can relate to the reviewer who gave bad review: I agree, "Captain Jim" was rude. On our tour, his wife wasn't with him, a friend of his, Joe, was helping. (Joe was fine.) Examples- Me - "Is this the building from the Nicholas Sparks movie?" Jim - "I've covered that, if you were sitting back here you could have heard me." I was, of course, on the front; My wife and I allowed 3 ladies who were aboard to have the shaded, padded seats closer to Jim. Me when Jim was discussing bad weather and waves - "How big were the biggest waves you've caught yourself in?" Jim - "I don't know, I never measured them." Been & wine are advertised as being on board. (They were.) Jim speaking to the other 3 ladies - "I'll have to keep an eye on them, they're already on their 2nd beer, my wife wouldn't like it." Note: we drank a total of 3 beers each on a 4 hour cruise. I guess my point is that if you don't wish for people to drink on the boat, don't provide & advertise it. Anyway - I agree that part of the trip was boring, a lot of motoring to the ocean. (Not the Captain's fault at all.) I did enjoy the sailing part of the cruise once we hit the ocean; the boat was beautiful. Please don't expect to sail the entire 4 hours. Perhaps we caught Captain Jim on a bad day, even one of the ladies, after we were off the boat, confided that she found him off putting and condescending.

The beautiful sightseeing and historical insights were only surpassed the by the hospitality of Captain Jim. Sailing on Endless Summer, a beautiful 38'sloop is an Over The Top way to see Historic Southport, Oak and Bald Head Islands from both the ICW and the Atlantic Ocean. Capt. Jim and crew make the tour a true adventure; fun, comfortable and safe. If you are new to the area or an old time resident you will enjoy this 4 hour excursion that is second to none. No sailing experience required, in fact you can help crew the ship and experience true sailing.
