With Capt. Gus you will learn fishing techniques that will improve your fishing and allow you to catch more fish on you own boat. Light tackle is used to maximize the excitement of fishing on Lake Norman. Guide boats can accommodate from one to six anglers. Fishing guides are available year round. They fish daily, including weekends and holidays.

I've been "Fishing with Gus" on multiple occasions. I've taken my father-in-law and I've taken friends when they visit.
Gus always takes you where the fish are. He provides everything you will need for your trip, except for the fishing license. But, it's easy enough to purchase that online and print it out before your trip.
Gus keeps you entertained during the entire excursion either with facts about Lake Norman or with one of his many "fish tales." It makes for a fun trip for any age group!
I've heard Gus speak on many occasions, as well, at events at the library and at sporting goods stores and outfitters around the area. He's given talks on boat safety, local wildlife, and fishing tips. His talks are always information and entertaining.
I would recommend Fishing with Gus for anyone who wants to get out on Lake Norman and have fun catching fish.

Went fishing with Captain Gus and had a wonderful fishing experience with him on Lake Norman. We caught Bass, Crappie, and a Catfish on his well equipped Range Boat. Capt Gus entertained us throughout the trip while sharing his knowledge of the Lake and philosophy on life. A great American! I highly recommend Fishing with Gus.

Fishing with Gus was a great experience and I highly recommend it! No matter your level of skill at lake fishing, Gus brings years of experience and makes it a fun event for your group. Gus knows Lake Norman and is extremely entertaining. He also provides a great boat with all the latest technology and works hard to help your group find the right fishing spots on Lake Norman.
We plan to take others out with Gus in the future. He makes your fishing guided tour a day to remember!

Captain Gus is not only an expert at fishing Lake Norman, he has fished in many other destinations over the years. (As seen in this picture I took, Islamorada, Florida) He’s love for fishing and his community of friends at Lake Norman is what keeps him there. His goal is to have everyone experience a fun and memorable day! I’m looking forward to fishing with him again soon!

Went out for a morning of fishing with our family. Captain Gus was awesome. The kids caught everything from large mouth bass to perch. It was a great family outing. Highly recommend to everyone. Captain Gus was great with the kids. Everyone caught something. Perfect day.

If you want to have a good day on the water, book a trip with Gus. You are not guaranteed to catch 100 fish but you sure are guaranteed to have a good time. Gus has been on the lake a long time. All the locals use him so if your not a local, you can be treated like one. Give Gus a try, you will not regret it.

Whether you're 5 or 105, Captain Gus caters to every age and level of experience, and, is a living legend of the lake and fishing terrain. A most genuine guide, loaded with personality, warmth and freely shares his knowledge. He has a link to the fish similar to a religious person has to a higher being. I do not know anyone who was not totally captured by fun of an experience with Captain Gus.

Fun day. Good fishing and conversation. Gus has a really nice boat with all the fishing tech you can think of. Gus is an expert on Lake Norman.

Great time fishing lots of fish with capt gus.plan to go Gain soon,nice lake realy an enjoyable time, he was on time had no problems supplied every thing but food and drink,love the lake in the mornings

Highly Recommend booking a fishing trip with Gus! The boat caught 100 fish in a four hour trip on Lake Norman. Gus was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Everyone had a great time and would definitely book again when we come back to Lake Norman.
